Massage service is also provided at a surcharge. Luggage storage is offered, while laundry service is offered at an additional charge. The location close to the centre. The facilities, the hot spring, my son and I simply loved it. Nice and charming staff, good meal. Definitely, we wouldn’t repeat the experience there.

At the ryokan, all units are allergy-free and soundproof. At the ryokan, all units come with bed linen and towels. I was the tour guide of a group of 10. I have chosen the Ryokan randomly and was the best choice I would have taken. 100% recommend it and will come back again with another group.

Situated a 10-minute walk from lively Kawaramachi area, Kyomachiya Ryokan Sakura Urushitei offers Japanese-style accommodation with modern facilities and traditional design. It provides a tour desk and a bar on the ground floor. Free WiFi is available in all areas. The staff were exceptional, so helpful and gave lots of tips for things to do. We especially liked the warm welcome every evening we arrived back to the ryokan . The interior feels really authentic Japanese and it was fantastic to experience a traditional Japanese room to sleep. The ryokan was so close to most of the major sites and metro/train stations. We cannot recommend this ryokan enough. A rating of 10 is not high enough!

Located in the sacred Koyasan area, Saizenin offers simple accommodation surrounded by mountains and many temples. Originally developed as a lodging for the temples’ pilgrims, it conducts Buddhist services every morning that guests can attend. Nankai Koyasan Train Station is a 15-minute drive away.

Fitted with tatami (woven-straw) flooring and traditional futon bedding, each room comes with a flat-screen TV and a seating area. A safety deposit box is also provided. The staff was nice and explained us everything that we needed to know.

Facing the central shopping street of the Kinosaki Onsen hot spring area, Morizuya offers authentic Japanese-style accommodation, hot spring baths and Japanese dining. Guests can wear colourful yukata robes at the property. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout. the staff was so wonderful, they took so many pictures of me in my yukats and as a solo traveler that means a lot! so many beautiful photos!

Rooms feature tatami-mat flooring, comfortable futon bedding and paper sliding screens. They are fitted with an LCD TV and a safe. Bathroom facilities are shared, and the public baths are open 16:00-22:00 and 06:00-09:00 daily. The most amazing experience we had in Japan!

Seikoro Ryokan is located in Kyoto, a 7-minute drive from JR Kyoto Station. Featuring traditional Japanese-style accommodation, it offers a public bath and massage services. Free Wi-Fi access is available at the entire property. Staying at Seikoro Ryokan was a truly unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us with warmth and exceptional hospitality. We enjoyed an exquisite 8-course Japanese dinner, featuring the freshest fish and beautifully presented dishes, followed by a delicious traditional Japanese breakfast the next morning. Sleeping in the traditional style, on comfortable floor mattresses, added to the authenticity and charm of the stay. The room was perfectly air-conditioned and overlooked a serene and beautifully maintained zen garden, offering a sense of peace and calm. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches—yukata robes provided for dinner and the onsen, as well as comfortable sleepwear. Thank you once again for such a wonderful and memorable stay. We hope to return one day!

Some units in the ryokan have private entrance and are equipped with wardrobe and tatami. Units are complete with a private bathroom, while certain units at the ryokan also provide guests with a seating area. The interior and finish were amazing , the blend of Japanese and Scandinavian furnishings were so elegant. Staying at the traditional Japanese room gave us a true Japanese experience.
