Just a 2-minute walk from Takayama Station, Oyado Koto No Yume offers Japanese-style rooms with a colourful touch. The staff were so kind and accommodating, and truly tried to go above and beyond for their guests. Every time we came back to the hotel we were greeted with an enthusiastic welcome back and ushered into the warmth and comfort of the reception area. Breakfast was exceptional and beautifully presented. The hotel also arranged for our luggage to be sent to our next destination which was extremely helpful as it meant we didn’t have to worry about storage lockers during our visit to nearby Shirakawa-go. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we’d be beyond delighted to come back.

Located in a 100 year-old Registered Tangible Cultural Property, Ryokan Hostel K's House is located in Shizuoka, a 7-minute walk from JR Ito Train Station. This was the first hostel I’ve stayed in and I can’t recommend it enough! The property is absolutely beautiful in a traditional Japanese style with a large common area that’s great to hangout and chat with other guests. The staff also speaks English and are so friendly and helpful it feels like a second home. There is cleaning that happens in the hostel everyday between 11am-3pm but you can still use the premises and sit around the common area, it’s just the onsen that’s closed. The onsen is also absolutely amazing. The town also kinda goes to sleep relatively early so the hostel is quite peaceful by 9pm. I stayed in a female only dorm and it was quite spacious and everyone was tidy and quiet at night.

Bousui - really magnificent ryokan hotel which takes special place in my wife’s and mine hearts😄! Room was very big, all over traditionally designed, very atmospheric and comfortable! Hot spring baths were amazing too: luxurious, very comfortable and with beautiful sea views! Premium gazebo was especially great! Really worth it! Employee, who helped us in room was very attentive, helpful and made all we could need to take all the best from our staying! Special thanks for pleasant conversations and tons of very interesting information! You made our staying unforgettable! Additionally to traditional breakfast, we asked for Kaiseki dinner - it was third Kaiseki we got, and truly, the most delicious and impressive! Fish was as fresh as it is possible, serving was full of beautiful and very interesting details! Last, but not least part of our rest was massage in award winning GECCA SPA: to be honest, Suzune gave me greatest massage I ever got! She was so attentive and diligent, made message with so masterpiece, that I’ve got extreme pleasure and relief! More over, it was first time when I feel, that therapist don’t just do it work, but really cares of me!🙏🏻 Btw, my wife never liked massages, but even she was really impressed by Suzune’s work! Situated in a tranquil area in Gifu Region, a 52-minute drive away from JR Takayama Station, Mozumo boasts a hot-spring bath and rooms decorated with modern Japanese interior. Very clean, stylish. The staff welcomed us and introduced us to the accomodation. I recommend you choose stay with meal included. Private onsen in the room but I liked especially the public onsen.

Featuring private open-air hot spring bath in all rooms, Isaribi is located in Hagashiizu, 2.7 km from Atagawa Hot Springs. A quiet and small place located near ocean, although building outside is old style but room renovated modern. Room has good view, you could see the sunrise too. Food is excellent, firstly was afraid breakfast would be the same as I stayed 2 nights, but found out was diffident and delicious. Hotel provided shuttle pick up from station. Staff is so nice. It was really a relaxed trip.

Kawakamiya Kasuitei se nachází 5 minut jízdy od nádraží Gero a nabízí tradiční pokoje v japonském stylu s tatami (tkaná sláma) a termální koupele v oblasti Gero Onsen. Very clean and cozy, authentic Onsen hotel!

Offering free WiFi access at public areas and indoor/outdoor hot spring baths, Tatsuta Ryokan is located a 5-minute walk from Yugashima Onsenguchi Bus Stop from which Shuzenji Station is a 30-minute... The staff was very kind. In two difficult situations, they provided us super glue and cold medicine.

Guest House & Cafe SOY se nachází uprostřed svěží zeleně, 15 minut jízdy autobusem od nádraží JR Takayama. K dispozici je bezplatné Wi-Fi a neplacené soukromé parkoviště. Everything!! Best hosts ever!!
