We had the best time. The room was lovely, clean and comfortable. We did 2 drives and saw loads of animals. Our ranger Peter was very knowledgeable and the hotel staff were super friendly. The best value for money.

Our stay at this hotel was simply unforgettable! The location is perfect, surrounded by beauty and convenience, and the rooms are wonderfully comfortable. The service was beyond expectations – warm, caring, and truly genuine. The meals were absolutely delicious, prepared with so much care and flavor. Our ranger was incredibly dedicated and attentive, making every moment of our trip special and memorable. Every staff member we met was kind, polite, and always ready to help with a smile. Nothing at all, very sad that our holiday went by so quickly.

Everything was superb! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with all requests. The rooms were stunning, clean and had enough storage space. The food was delectable each day. The boma dinner and dining in the garden was such a memorable experience. We also participated in an excellent wine pairing special with dinner. Our game ranger Doreen was the absolute best, she is so knowledgeable about the environment, bird life and all animals in the reserve. She also entertained us everyday with her sense of humour. It was such an unforgettable experience, we would definitely return.

There were very few negatives, if any. Perhaps the bar area lighting could be better i.e. dimmed for after dinner night caps. It was extremely bright, it felt like sitting in a hotel lobby and even when dimmed, it only dimmed a small amount therefore absolutely zero ambiance. If that were fixed it would be an unbelievably perfect place to sit by the fire (winter) and have a drink or hit chocolate while playing the provided board games etc. As it stands, the bar area ambiance is poor to say the least (not speaking about the bar tender, who is very friendly and tried his best to accommodate all requests).

The staff - world class! Absolutely incredible service, friendly and attentive without being over bearing. The food, too, was excellent for all meal services (especially the boma dinner). Facilities were clean and well cared for, bed was huge and very comfortable and the outdoor shower was bliss.

The food the 1st time was outstanding, but the second time, it was not as great. Some food was good, but some meals were average and not 5 star.

This was the second time we had been to Shepherds, and wow! We were upgraded to the executive suite, and what a spoil! Winter and we swam in the heated pool and asked if our lunch could be brought to the room - they did not disappoint! 10/10

Absolutely nothing, the stay was that amazing!

The property is situated inside of Pilanesberg National Park where you can get up close and personal with the animals. The property was amazing and truly was a great experience.

Our game drives were not very good the animals were all hiding. However the ranger Martin was knowledgeable and excellent. My only neg comment in a fully 5* facility was that game drive drinks were not of best quality and also the ranger was given very limited quantities to drive out with. this contrasted vastly with the abundance of great quality food served all day long.

The most warm welcoming staff. Excellence all round. Was a really wonderful stay. And very high levels of qualities rooms and food. We attended as a large group for special celebration and the resort rose to the occasion. The exc chef Siya very talented. Rooms comfortable and tasteful. The outdoor shower was not an issue. warm enough to use in winter even at night.
