Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomFrom the moment we arrived at the lodge, we were made to feel completely at home. The staff went above and beyond in every interaction – warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making our stay memorable. Every smile felt sincere, every request was met with efficiency and grace, and their knowledge of the area truly enriched the experience. The facilities were immaculate and thoughtfully designed, blending luxury with the beauty of the surrounding landscape. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated. The common areas were perfectly maintained and offered comfort without ever losing that authentic atmosphere. The game drives were expertly guided, with an incredible balance between adventure and safety, and each outing brought unforgettable wildlife encounters. Even between excursions, the lodge provided plenty of opportunities to relax and enjoy the surrounding areas. There was absolutely nothing to fault – every detail was spot on. This is a place that clearly takes pride in what it does, and it shows. We left with full hearts, wonderful memories, and a deep appreciation for the team that made it all possible.

AustraliaThe staff and the luxury of our king room with all we needed.
The staff and owners of the lodge were all outstanding hosts who made us feel comfortable in every way. Melissa in administration was very efficient in answering all our questions and advice and booking our wonderful accommodation. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone at Mvuradona Lodge. We loved that the animals walked around the property at their leisure and that it was on the river where you could here the hippos grunting and see lions, giraffe and elephants along with many bird species across the river.

South AfricaNot having a fridge in the room to keep water or other refreshments cool, to avoid having to walk all the way to the reception lounge at night. No two point power points at bedside for charging or at the desk, instead it was at a serving tray stand at toilet entrance, which in anyway was cluttered with emergency light, kettle, mugs, coffee, tees, etc, etc, barley enough space for the phone or appliance needing charging. Although food tasted very good and well presented, we felt that the food menu was very limited, especially the starters, which only had one option per evening. The chairs outside the room on entrance deck to the room, could be more comfortable for outdoor gazing and relaxation.
The welcoming on arrival. The reception lounge setting. Melissa was amazing and welcoming. The room was very comfortable. The staff was not overbearing and respected our space. The times they needed to interact with us, they were very friendly and prompt. The food was good. The idea of trying to gather all guests at night, by starting a campfire and placing chairs around the fire.

ItalyEverything was just perfect
Location is a great access point to explore Kruger NP. The lodge is in Marloth park which means you can randomly encounter animals such as zebras and different antelopes at any time, especially during dinner and breakfast. It was absolutely a unique experience to admire animals passing by. The place is family-run and service provided was exceptional. From check in, to breakfast box to room service and delicious food by the chef, you will feel home away from home. If you can, book a safari with in-house safari guide, which was a plus of our stay. Heartfelt thanks to Estelle for looking after us so well! Totally recommended, would be back again and again!

MozambiqueThey have one safari car I think, but couldn’t accommodate 5 of us, though there were only 7 people. We found another company so it worked out, but I’ve never been to a lodge that didn’t have a number of cars and take people out.
Very welcoming, close to Crocodile Bridge gate, nice staff! The rooms were nice and there are lots of animals freely roaming around! It’s their house as well as a business (plus and minus for me).

South AfricaNothing, everything was exceptional
Exceptional, friendly staff and owners who went out of their way to make our stay an incredible one. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was out of this world, and the effort made from feeding the local wildlife, walks down to the crocodile river and even a delightful breakfast pack for the park. We cannot wait to return for our next Kruger visit

All staff and Hosts - Excellent, the Animals everywhere - awesome, the food, the 6 hour private game drive to and inside the Kruger national park, (elephants and lions so close to us practically inside the safari vehicle - (hahahaha) the 1 hour long quad bike ride - sooo much fun, Marloth park itself has so much to offer. The long walks in nature. This Safari lodge location is right next to the Crocodile river, with all the Kruger national park animals at your doorstep. From our luxury room we looked straight into the Kruger national park seeing and hearing the beautiful animals calls, and sounds Breakfast - dinner beautiful table settings with nature. i can go on and on. There are many more this lodge can book for a client, we had a short 5 night stay and they made is so enjoyable. Definitely value for money, location, good food, quality housing, attention to detail. AustraliaSome meals weren't up to expectations. The low light at evening meals made it difficult to see what we were eating. I was reasonably happy with the meals. We were told the regular chef was not available.
Loved the animals that were attracted by the extra feed given by management. Took some great close up photos.

AustraliaPayment system - a serious matter in my opinion. The payment of 50% well before travel created uncertainty. I erroneously felt we had paid full amount based on mail from Booking.com, host suggested otherwise. Created unnecessary friction between host and travelling companion (who incidentally had full amount debited) and wasted valuable time investigating bank accounts to resolve. Booking.com needs to improve this approach as one of two bad-taste experiences of some 15 properties stayed occurred when this approach had been adopted. Better system is needed! Main meals need to be improved - clearly worst of all places we stayed. Apparently chef was away but steak was inedible; entrées, sweets better, Food difficult to view at night with poor outside lighting.
Friendly staff, nice room with the most brilliant bed decorations (best ever experienced in over 50 years of travel) However, Mvuradona is largely about the animals. Host exceptionally interested in animals, admittedly fed in Marloth, but the list of relaxed animals arriving at the front door and around the breakfast table was stunning. In so called private reserves visited animals were shot infrequently and extremely timid! -
