How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThis is a semi-luxurius camp. Seeing the elephants passing between the tents and drinking from the pool is a life-time experience. Also the private game driving are a whooe different levels than the ones proposed in Kruger. Fully reccomended
For the prices we paid (not cheap!), I would have expected a bit more "luxury". Food was OK, not great.

Verified reviewIf you want an adventure, this is the place. It isn't luxury but is extremely comfortable and compared to other tented camps you do get good value with all meals included and two game drives a day. The tents are comfortable and you really are in the wilderness. We even saw a rhino as we drove to the camp. The guides are superb, Brilliant lived us to his name and Keke was outstanding. We saw a lion on a kill, two lionesses and a cub and cheetahs. Elephants came to the pool to drink twice. One night we had lions in the camp, so it is worth bearing in mind that this really is wilderness.
My only minor criticism is that I would have liked to have sometimes had a chance to photograph birds on the game drives, but the priority is big game and big cats, so it is understandable.

Verified reviewLoved our stay at Honeyguide! The “Tents” are of good quality, bed very comfortable and bathrooms always had hot water available in the showers. Our safari guide Leyton was excellent and we were able to spot the big 5 within our 3 night stay! Elephants came to the pool for a drink each day which was a highlight of our stay!

Verified reviewIt was in Kruger but private reserve so we were able to get up and fairly close with animals. Plus we did the drives in morning and afternoon/evening rather than spending all day on a safari in the national park part of Kruger. Which means you're out during the high heat of mid day and none of the animals are out so feels like a waste of time and is boring. Wildlife walked right through the camp. They took good safety precautions. The guide made sure everyone on the vehicle got a good view. We saw lots of wildlife and 4 of the Big 5. Not that we were driven by that, it's beautiful just driving around. The food was delicious and plentiful. Alcohol was available at the bar and staff were friendly and helpful. We had a standard hire car and were able to manage the terrain reasonably well.
We could have done with warm blankets for the early mornings and evening drives. It's very cold before and after sunrise.

Verified reviewWhat an amazing experience if you want to see the magnificent 7!!!!, in just 3 short days. We had 5 game drives, and our guide DEVANCE, was the best. He answered all our questions and did his utmost best to ensure we have the best African Experience posdible. Our American guests had a 5 star South African experience. We were treated to an amazing Boma-open cooked dinner which included traditional South African food. The staff was amazingly friendly and the food was fresh, great variety and very well prepared. What a treat for even us being South African. The accommodation was great as well and every single expectation we had was exceeded.

Verified reviewWe really loved this holiday. Our guide Brilliant lived up to his name. We would recommend this to anyone wanting to experience an African safari. They organised a transfer from the airport for us which we paid for at the end of our trip at reception.
I would avoid this if you have a dodgy back as a lot of the safaris were off road, but we loved it.

Verified reviewLocation and accommodation were good and staff were friendly and helpful.
Not much attention to detail and food choices were limited and very average. We had visited a few years ago and had returned as a result of the great viewing experiences we’d had last time which sadly didn’t happen this time. Previous rangers were far more skilled and the game drives were rushed and uncomfortable.

Verified reviewGreat staff, yummy food, elephant drank water from the pool! Lots of space in the tent and impressed that the water was hot, no problems with electricity etc. and saw big 5 on the game drive! Shout out to Devance who used so much skill to find the rhinos and leopards
Overall really good. Just a little further to get to from Joburg which isn’t their fault

Verified reviewAbsolutely loved our stay at Honeyguide Tented Safari Camp – Khoka Moya! From start to finish, everything was just perfect. The location is incredible—right on the riverbank in the Manyeleti Game Reserve, with amazing views and the thrill of seeing wildlife wandering freely around the camp. Our tent was spacious, super comfortable, and beautifully decorated, with a private deck where we could just sit and soak in the peaceful bush surroundings. The staff were simply wonderful—so warm, friendly, and attentive. They made us feel right at home and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. And the food? Honestly some of the best I’ve ever had on safari. Every meal was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented, with plenty of options to suit all tastes. The game drives were unforgettable. Our ranger was knowledgeable and passionate, helping us spot the Big Five and so many other amazing animals. Plus, the camp itself has such a relaxed, welcoming vibe. We even enjoyed the pool area where elephants came down to drink—such a special experience! All in all, Khoka Moya felt like a perfect mix of adventure, comfort, and genuine African wilderness. I can’t recommend it enough if you want a truly memorable safari. It was hands down one of the best trips I’ve ever had—10 stars from me!
