The location is 5 minutes from waterfront. It is very clean. Really enjoy the breakfeast. My kids enjoy the cat and enjoy the architecture of the house! The owner is nice and the staff too! Special thanks to Muffet !

A beautiful property with spacious rooms, in an ideal and quiet location, near some great cafes and bars, with a lovely seafront walk into the V&A Waterfront and a tasty breakfast each day. What made the experience really shine was the extremely kind and welcoming staff. We had an unfortunate mugging incident on our second day, whilst on a hike on Signal Hill, and the staff (Michael, Katherine, Mofat, and Trevor in particular) could not have been more helpful and supportive in getting everything sorted so we could get back to enjoying our holiday. Their support through a difficult experience, as well as their generally friendly and accommodating approach throughout our stay, was truly incredible - we have never experienced such hospitality before. We will be certainly be recommending Altona to all of our friends and family who come to stay in Cape Town. Thanks so much guys!

The communication received from Altona Lodge on booking was excellent. I was particularly grateful to be able to check in to my room early for the first night of my stay. My room, along with the ensuite bathroom, were spacious, comfortable and exceptionally clean. Breakfast was generous with a wide range of lovely choices. Access to the kitchen area for self-catering and the ability to help oneself to tea and coffee during the stay were an appreciated touch. The location was also fabulous - quiet, close to some tourist sites, cafes/restaurants and the ocean front, and felt safe at all times. Staff on duty at breakfast and during the day were also lovely. I would definitely stay here again if I were to return to Cape Town.

I’ve stayed at Altona a few times, and it consistently offers the best accommodation experience. This visit was a last-minute booking, and Catherine handled it with such ease and warmth, her smile alone feels like a welcome. The place is always spotlessly clean, and the bed is incredibly comfortable, making every stay relaxing. I absolutely love the location - it’s close to the gym, a pleasant walk to the beach and the V&A, and conveniently near the shops. Altona has truly become my go-to spot for me, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

I liked literally everything. The location. The hotel is close to both the center and the embankment. It's not far to walk to the shops. There is a beautiful park nearby. The area is quiet and calm.The hotel has excellent staff. All the workers are friendly. I was surprised that breakfast is included in the price of the hotel. This is another huge plus. Definitely one of the best hotels where I stayed

The facility is clean but is not fancy in any way (more like a grandma house than a hotel). The WiFi and TV were not really functional (I was eventually able to connect to Netflix). The coffee was not good, but I'm picky about that.

The staff were kind and the location was walking distance of everything I needed. The breakfast was continental but decent. I loved that they allowed me to use the kitchen if I wanted in the day. The house has a sweet resident cat that loves attention. The price was excellent.

I have never given a property 10 stars before. This property definitely deserves it. Michael, the owner of the property, has the perfect balance of hospitality and professionalism. The property is perfectly located in Cape Town. The Area is called Green Point. It is a central and safe location. The rooms are well maintained. The price for the room is fair. Definitely not overpriced.

The hotel is relatively small and has a homely feel. The owners and staff are very pleasant and welcoming. A quiet and beautiful neighborhood. We walked to the port in the morning. The location is like anywhere in the city, the owners recommend Uber in the evening, I didn't see any places to go out to spend the evening within walking distance. Note that the nearest supermarket closes at 7 or 8 and I was walking in the dark. They also recommended that I take Uber. We went to a restaurant that the owner recommended at our request and it was great, the crowd was local, the food was excellent, and no posing for tourists.

Everything. We were allowed to check in earlier. The facilities were clean and you could have access to the kitchen and the dinning area. The accommodation is located in a quiet and safe neighborhood. The hostess was very helpful.

you hardly will feel it, because they are already prepared for it but it might happen a little load shedding, nothing to worry about. it is still quite a bargain.

The location is perfect on a very safe part of the city, noise-proof and very organized. The breakfast is indulgent and the bedroom is beautiful with many tv streamings. Staff was nice and kept my lost glasses for me, also were ready for my late check in.

Altona lodge is conveniently located about 2km away from V&A Waterfront, easy walk or easy 50ZAR Uber ride. Grocery store and a few nice cafes are under 5mins walk from the lodge. Catherine the owner was very welcoming and friendly and so were her staff. I enjoyed the stay- great value for money. Would come back again if ever in Cape Town.
