Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThis place was absolutely beautiful, with breathtaking views. Santo Island is by far the most amazing island I’ve ever visited. I went to celebrate my 30th birthday, and the next day I got engaged — both days the staff went above and beyond to make us feel special. They even decorated our table, which was such a lovely touch. Everyone was incredibly kind, warm, and always willing to help. Our cabin was also amazing — cozy, clean, and perfect for the setting. Honestly, this is one of the best places I’ve ever stayed in my life. 100% recommended. I’d come back in a heartbeat.

New ZealandNothing!! Loved it! Maybe a wee bit isolated at times for us but thats also a charm! plenty of activities and tours available. Kayaks paddle boards available.
Beautifully maintained Lodge. All ocean view units are exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated all with sea views. Glamping tents are next level and totally awesome! Own area access to the water. Plenty of storage. Luxury! Overall the Lodge and gardens are so exceptional well maintained at a high standard. Swimming Pool a lovely alternative to the sea and a relaxing place to be. Close to great beaches and blue holes. Staff are so friendly nothing any trouble seem to genuinely enjoy being part of the Lodge. Food amazing and reasonably priced. Continental Breakfast perfect but if you more peckish big breakfast a winner!

New ZealandIf I had to give 1 negative -the only tiny thing was that the bed could have done with a mattress topper, But overall everything was wonderful.
What am amazing place! From the welcome drink and smiles on arrival to the moment we left, the staff and management helped with our every need. I had been in touch with the team before our arrival and they helped us pre arrange the activities we wanted to do ahead of time which ended up being essential as we would have missed out otherwise. (The horse riding and Best snorkeling Santo often need to be booked in advance.) The restaurant was beautiful and the food was delicious - they even managed to cater for my difficult dairy /gluten free diet which is a rare find. Free continental breaksfast was available, juice, cereal toast and a delicious fresh fruit platter with a full breakfast menu available for an extra cost (half price for resort guests!) The rooms are all beachside and are lovely - just enough comfort but rustic enough to not feel too 'resorty' and everything is kept very clean. Being able to hire kayaks directly from the lodge and expore was great and they supplied dry bags, towels etc. for when we went out on them and on other day trips. Everything was made super easy. The people, the place - everything exceeded my expectations and we truly hope to be back someday! Absolutely loved it - Thank you Vicky, Mick and the team for making us feel so welcome.

It provides Kayaks, buggies and quads that can be rented for the day. kayaking from the lodge to the holes is a must do! The Angie, and the crew are spectacular. They are so warm and welcoming, and made our stay be even more special.

AustraliaNothing to much. Main observation was lack on air conditioning in room which when it’s 27+ is unbearably hot. There are fans but with no breeze and hot / muggy conditions they really need air conditioning. Some, higher end rooms have these
Great location, clean and spacious rooms w comfy beds. Good range of accommodation food was excellent. Breakfast snacks and dinner. All good quality well prepared and tasty! Staff were excellent. Access to water activities - kayak, stand up paddling board, snorkelling etc

PortugalAbsolutely NOTHING :-) oh yes, one thing; going home after 9 amazing days!
The location was beautiful! The owners, the manager and the staff are all super friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The breakfast, lunch and dinner are really great with delicious dishes with fresh ingredients. There is also a wide choice for vegetarians which is great! The restaurant is very cozy and has a beautiful view over the bay, with a terrace right on the water. The PADI dive center of Turtle Bay Lodge is conveniently located next to the restaurant and is practically furnished with many different items, such as kayaks, paddle boards, snorkeling gear, etc. There is also a nice shop at the reception with beautiful merchandise to have a nice memory of your stay. The dive sites are very close to Turtle Bay Lodge, close to several nearby islands. You can also snorkel in front of the restaurant, which is great. The atmosphere throughout the site is very relaxing and you can enjoy yourself in a hammock under the trees. At the reception you can arrange any excursions you want to do, or even rent a buggy if you want to go out on your own. Santo island is so beautiful, with such friendly people!

From the moment I arrived, I couldn't have felt more welcome and relaxed. Great facilities and restaurant. My flight was cancelled and the crew were at the airport to take us all back to stay back in our rooms for another night; we were welcomed back with the same enthusiasm. THANK YOU all so much, just amazing :)

United KingdomIt would be more relaxing if transport costs and options were more 'transparent' and easier to work out. For example, the web information quotes a cost of taxi from airport to hotel as being 'per room', but asking at the desk for transport I was quoted a 'per person' amount. Maybe kayak hire could be 'inclusive' for guests, but was listed as an extra cost. It would also be great to have a guide as to places to snorkel, for those not focussed on dive trips. If out front, near the point is OK, then an access point to get in past the rocks would be worth creating. Or information on trips out to the nearby islands for a few hours of snorkelling, etc
beautiful location, friendly staff, kayaks to hire, food was good and reasonably priced.

AustraliaThere was not much to dislike, maybe a better option range for the "inclusive breakfast". In similar resorts we had the option to at least chose one hot meal from the menu per day.
We enjoyed our stay at this small boutique resort a lot! The resort offers great adventurous options to explore the area for all levels of fitness. We in particular enjoyed renting a kayak and paddle to the nearby blue holes, highlight of our entire stay in Vanuatu. Renting a quad bike to get to Champagne Beach was another highlight, so was diving organized by the in-house PADI dive center. EVERYONE was always super friendly! Thanks for a great and memorable stay!

AustraliaNothing, everything was great. We have stayed at a few resorts in Vanuatu and turtle bay is one of the best for location, facilities and helpful staff.
We loved our stay at turtle bay, Vicky and mick were lovely managers. They always checked in to see how we were going and what they could do to help book activities or offer recommendations. The food quality was fantastic, for an island that can have limited supplies they did a great job at providing a lot of menu options. The staff were all so friendly and you could tell they loved their job and were happy to be working at turtle bay.
