Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ChinaBreakfast was shifted to the side rooms of the event floor due to refurbishment of the ground floor restaurant - ok, but not the greatest choice and stressed-out staff with loads of guests. Make sure to have breakfast before 08:30.
Location - not the closest to sights, but out of the traffic chaos and not far from airport. Very nice and helpful staff. Nice and quiet room at the end of the corridor. Quite nice outdoor pool area. All a bit worn, but still in very good condition.

AustraliaA great hotel that provided everything that we needed for a stop over in Ho Chi Minh. Great pool, large room, excellent restaurants in the surrounding streets and friendly staff. We were able to get a half day late checkout due to a late flight. That was fantastic as it meant we could relax up until we needed to leave. Will definitely stay again

United StatesI saw a giant cockroach on the hall way in front of our room and it's the biggest one that I ever seen in my life. I got my act together and killed it with my foot. Thanks God. Also, we arrived when they were fixing the main building sight with the scaffolding and we felt like walking under construction zone with no safety warning.
We booked this hotel and then checked in 30 minutes later as we got stranded at River Gate building when our 3-bedroom apartment reservation is non existence and is a scammer. This is property meets 5-star standard and similar to a 5-star in America. No complains and good enough.

AustraliaThe room was really large, the bed was very comfortable. The pool was lovely but most of all the staff were so accommodating and the hotel went out of their way to help us find local markets and they also provided us with luggage storage AND they allowed the kids to use the pool after we had checked out and gave our party of 8 a spare room to freshen up in before our late flight. They really went above and beyond and I was very impressed with this hotel.

CanadaAt check in, I paid for my one night stay with a Visa card and received a receipt. The person who checked me in and showed me my room tried hard to get me to sign an obligation with the hotel for that stay after I paid. --My contract was with the booking platform and I had completed that obligation when I paid at the property. --At check out the same front desk attendant accepted my key card. I asked him for a statement acknowledging my check out and zero balance owing. He said ‘we’re checking the room now’. I asked the man who appeared to be a morning front desk manager to get a VinaSun taxi for my trip to the airport. And then I checked back with the front desk attendant for a zero balance checkout statement. He had done nothing to generate one and came at me again with a further and this time more aggressive campaign for my signature. The taxi ride, at airport arrival, featured a driver who insisted that the 77,000 dong on the meter must be augmented with more money from me than the meter total. Exit document fees of 9000 dong he claimed; meaning the toll cost of leaving airport property. Never get into a taxi or similar ride arrangement without nailing down a flat fee. To me the extra fight needed to try to get away from the increasing hoops and layers of potential obligation to the Vietnamese seller is a blight that faces the country's visitors. And that was demonstrated at the hotel front desk, both coming and going, and at the end of the taxi ride.
Of my 9 different accommodation experiences throughout Vietnam over one and a half years to July 2025, Eastin Grand Saigon is tied for number 1 spot with a 5-star hotel in a more northern city. --Extra thoughtful and responsive room preparation and guest service. --Being a western tourist, I loved that the big TV in room 401 played CNN Global as soon as I turned it on. --My booking platform requests were for a quiet room in a quiet location far away from the elevator. --The hotel had read and considered what I asked for and they gave it to me along with early check in. And they custom set my room air conditioning to a temperature comfortable for me. In the room, the AC is centrally controlled, not by the occupant, according to the front desk. --The room had big windows, lots of natural light, and good lighting throughout. It was huge, clean, and had living room - like features: Big plush couch, and freestanding desk with comfortable chair. The bathroom was large and elegant, and included a big mirror and comforting lighting. --The bed was larger than king size, and with just the right firmness of mattress and pillows, for me. --I heard no sounds from outside or inside the hotel except for a brief round of loud voices in the hallway early in the evening I checked in. My room had a city street view and was set back considerably off the street. --Upon request, the hotel brought me bottled water when I ran out. --Buffet breakfast was fabulous, great variety and quality of dozens of different items. As good as it was, at 400,000 dong it was overpriced. In the range of 250,000 would be appropriate value. My present hotel, in comparison, charges 120,000 dong at its Hoi An property. It's buffet is 70% as extensive as Eastin Grand's and definitely as delicious. 10 out of 10 was the score I attached to this hotel stay until I experienced the part that went sideways:

United KingdomThe light switch situation is an absolute pain. Multiple switchers doing different things but if one isn't on somewhere the bathroom lights don't come on. Such a pain. Could have had better food menus especially by the pool. Menu was very limited. Food was also pricey. Stayed at La vela and food was cheaper there!
Big rooms, very clean and comfortable.
