How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Really good staff, both Tom and Sebastián were really helpful and friendly! The room was good, everything felt fresh and clean. The breakfast was good with bread, cereals, juice and eggs made just for me. Location is also good, nice and quiet. They also offer laundry service and I got my clothes back after just a couple of hours when I handed them in at 9am. I would definitely come back here again!

Very noisy in the room because of the street. And you can hear everything from the common room as well.
The location to visit outside the old town. Nice common room. Bed is very confortable.

Could use one or two more bathroom for the number of beds as thwy would be busy during peak times.

The shower heat wasn’t consistent, raised with staff who dismissed it without entirely acknowledging my concern. Followed their instructions to leave the water running to warm up, but the water was still cold. Due to its size, noise travels. An American guest felt compelled to tell the entire hostel of his dating life whether they wanted to hear it or not.
Really well located, close to a mini market and a Tata supermarket is only a 15 minute walk. 30 minutes to the Old Town, and near a shopping mall. Good staff, equipped kitchen and great wifi.

Nothing is included, no free coffee, I mean, I have stayed in other hostels, that at least give free coffee / and Breakfast. (I just needed Coffee)

The women's dorm is a bit noisy being so close to the street + beside a bathroom. Bring earplugs :)
Ended up staying over a week, great hostel, very clean, comfy beds and very nice staff!

I had to take antihistamines at night, unsure if it's the AC or something in the room. The place you can chill "outside" is an interior open roof room where people smoke, so I didn't chill there much. Also, it's really a quiet hostel, and I would have enjoyed it if some activities had been organized. But these are minor things and everything was great.
I stayed 6 nights after staying at two other hostels in MV (definitely go to this one if you're wondering between it and the ones very close to it). Very nice staff, good room size (4 beds women's only - a bit noisy for this one being beside a bathroom and being at street level), very clean, modern and spacious bathrooms, very fair laundry prices (300 for a bag ready in 3-4h), the payable breakfast (under 300) has quite a few options and is cheap compared to other breakfast places around. Finally the location cannot be better - right at Parque Rodó, very near La Rambla, near some of the best restaurants in the city and a very nice library, there's a small beach (Ramirez) about 10min walk and a very cheap convenience store a few steps away (Super Compac). The facilities are very comfortable and clean.

The 4 bed dorm was in the middle of the busy area where ppl cook and socialize. Quiet time needs to be enforced as midnight is already late and when not adhered to it's very noisy. The girl with the colourful hair is miserable , not friendly and hardly ever smiles, really let's the team down.
Loved the male staff, so friendly and helpful! New girl Roxanne was great when I checked in late at night. Cleaning lady so nice too. Location great for buses and near a nice park. Supermarkets nearby. Well equipped kitchen! Comfortable and homely.

Rooms were extremely small with limited space to store bags. Only 3 bathrooms for all guests. Not much of an atmosphere, no planned activities to get to know people.
Beds were comfortable, located close to Park Rodo with a nightly fair happening, nice lounging areas.

Hostel was flexible and allowed us to store bags even after our stay to work with our travel plans. Hostel hosts were very nice, and allowed us to try their Mate!

At nights it can be very noisy, with guests staying right outside at the door or inside drinking. The female dorm is in the corridor and the window opens to the street, so no privacy at all.
Cool hostel with nice staff and a good place to meet people. If you need to work, go to the secret corner upstair. Localization is really good in the city. Beds with privacy and an OK kitchen.
