Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe first hour and a half or so after we arrived, the lawns immediately adjacent to the building were being mowed and trimmed. It was very noisy. We got away from the noise by going for a swim but found the pool had a lot of floating grass in it. The only negative but it did seem that doing the lawns at check-in time on a Friday was avoidable.
The room was very modern with an upscale feel. The bed was comfortable with lovely linens and the bathroom was spacious and clean with big fluffy towels. The small kitchenette area was perfect for preparing coffee or tea as well as the breakfast provided. We enjoyed the covered outdoor sitting area. When we arrived we were fortunate to meet the entire family, Mom and her 3 sons. All were very welcoming and kind. It was Juan, the youngest who could speak English so he was our guide. He was very knowledgeable and we thoroughly enjoyed learning the history and legacy of this family bodega. We had the tour, tasting with charcuterie, and the lunch. It was all very good but too much food. We suggest having one or the other.

United StatesAbsolutely amazing experience! The room was tastefully designed, spacious, and well equipped. The setting was serene and relaxing. We loved being located on the vineyard and able to walk the grounds. The provided bicycles were great so we could explore Carmelo a little more. All the staff and El Legado family members we super warm, friendly, and kind. We would make another trip to Uruguay just to visit El Legado! We had such an amazing time. Thank you!!

SwitzerlandWe spent three wonderful days in the El Legado wine lodge. The bodega rightly calls itself a boutique wine lodge. Only 14,000 bottles are produced per hectare each year, of the Tannat, Syrah and a blend of the first two varieties. The guest house has four very spacious and modern rooms, with seating on both sides. The newly built swimming pool with comfortable loungers around the pool in the middle of the vines deserves special mention. The staff also deserves special mention, who are always friendly and helpful. Federico, the manager of the complex, looked after us with humor and a lot of knowledge. He showed us around the wine cellar and the rest of the complex. The highlight of the stay was the wine tasting with a wonderful platter of delicacies. The whole thing was only surpassed by the asado. A selection of meat that is second to none was served to us right by the fireplace.

CanadaWonderfully spacious and private rooms overlooking vineyards and fields. The winery is beautiful and the wines and food excellent. We had a lovely breakfast delivered to our room to enjoy at our leisure, we borrowed bikes and cycled to local bodegas and returned for an amazing wine tasting and late lunch at El Legado. Fabulous experience!

BrazilAs the breakfast is brought to the room, there could be a table with chairs that are more comfortable eating in. My father has some limitations and for him was complicated eating in the low chair and table.
The location is perfect if you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy the wonderful views. Me and my mom really enjoyed biking around with the bikes provided by the hotel. The rooms are big and have a good structure. The breakfast is brought to the room the day before, and it was really good.

United StatesNothing comes to mind to improve in our experience here.
From the very moment we arrived, we were treated like family. The rooms were modern, and incredibly well equipped, and breakfast was exceptional, delivered the night before. Rooms had excellent showers, fully equipped with a fridge and all the basics. The wine tasting was outstanding and we could tell this family owned bodega is loved as much by the owner Maria as us guests.

AustraliaDidnt like we only had time to stay 2 nights.
A perfect location. Vineyard, long very long tasting and BBQ lunch were excellent. Accommdation just as described, boxed breakfast delicious. Perfect for a romantic getaway. We stayed over Xmas and enjoyed the peace and amazing sunsets. It is a small boutique vineyard with only 3 wines but well worth the tasting. If youre reading this, dont hesitate book immediately.

BrazilNot a big thing, as the overall experience is wonderful. But just note that the breakfast is pre-prepared and delivered the night before, as the winery doesn't open until 11am. For the price, it might have included a few more fresh items (rather than standard store bread, for example).
This was a beautiful, comfortable, and above all tranquil place to spend a couple nights while exploring the lovely area around Carmelo. I especially enjoyed being able to have a place to crash after enjoying a long, leisurely wine tasting and lunch at the winery itself. (Do treat yourself to this experience, if you stay!)

AustraliaOutrageously expensive (and more than twice the price our nights in Punta del Este, Montevideo and Buenos Aires) - very poor value for money. Breakfast was basic with supermarket bread (delivered to your room at 5pm the night before). Staff were extremely disengaged. We asked what restaurants were open and they said they would bring a list to our room - this didn’t happen. We asked for toilet paper as it wasn’t replenished and it didn’t come (so my husband had to go and ask again). And both male and female staff walk past your windows and peer into the glass windows (from less than a metre away) - like a peeping Tom -not private or respectful. Construction is on the site (diggers) and starts at 8am and goes all day (together with the mowing).
Super comfortable bed and good size room. Lots of friendly dogs around (some owned by the family, others come in from the street). Amazing restaurant in Carmelo called Nido - sensational food, great prices and wonderful staff.
