“Room was spacious. Very comfortable king size bed. Very clean. Staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very good, and they offer to make scrambled eggs, which is not that usual in Uruguay. Complimentary coffee available throughout the day. Communal areas are pleasant and comfortable to relax in, overall the hotel decor is lovely. Good location, Carmelo is small so everything is walking distance in the town, with many wineries a very short drive or taxi ride away.”
“Very welcoming and knowledgeable staff, offering quality wines and food. Rooms were beautiful and spotless clean. Generous breakfast served in the room. Its the perfect location to stay while exploring Carmelos winery circuit. We will come back in the summer to enjoy the pool area!”
“It’s a beautiful complex with bungalows arranged around a spacious garden, which gives a lot of privacy. The bungalows have everything you need: spacious bathroom and bedroom with a place to store stuff, mini kitchen (not made for cooking but with a fridge and water kettle) and a terrace. The location is very close to the beach but still walkable distance from town and it was very quiet at night! Gustavo has been an amazing host, always available for questions, he sent me recommendations on restaurants and wineries and even drove me to the bus and to one of the wineries with a bike on the pickup so that I could cycle back.
I would definitely stay again!”
“The gardens and pool were well kept and beautiful. It was 35c, so we made good use of the pool area, which was up a full flight of outdoor, tile stairs from our suite off the driveway. There were suites in this upper area as well.
A delcious breakfast was also served there in a nice breakfast room. We had fresh coffee and juice, yogurt, fruit, a boiled egg, toast, jam, and homemade coffee cake. It was a very nice way to start the day.
The very small kitchenette did not include a stove top, but it had a full size.fridge and a microwave. The dishes and glasses were nice. We did not cook.
Gustavo was friendly and welcoming. Even with the language barrier, we managed to communicate.
The 2 bedroom suite also had 2 single beds in the living room so it could sleep a big family.”
“The room was very modern with an upscale feel. The bed was comfortable with lovely linens and the bathroom was spacious and clean with big fluffy towels. The small kitchenette area was perfect for preparing coffee or tea as well as the breakfast provided. We enjoyed the covered outdoor sitting area.
When we arrived we were fortunate to meet the entire family, Mom and her 3 sons. All were very welcoming and kind. It was Juan, the youngest who could speak English so he was our guide. He was very knowledgeable and we thoroughly enjoyed learning the history and legacy of this family bodega.
We had the tour, tasting with charcuterie, and the lunch. It was all very good but too much food. We suggest having one or the other.”
“The staff is very kind, and the location is beautiful.
The breakfast had diverse options with delicious food.
The options for lunch and dinner were perfect.”
