How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Maintenance of cleanliness. I wanted to wear a robe that was hanging inside the closet and it was so dusty. Couldn’t sit outside cause it was dusty on the patio. I get it it’s Palm Springs. There was coffee stain that wasn’t wiped off. There was an issue with cup of the hotel room too, I think it was dusty. But if they know a guest are coming and hence I let them know in advance than I expect it’s ready for me to utilize everything in the room. Also, I get it, it’s a party town and people are up late. My expectations when I wake up to get coffee I can find a sitting spot outside that’s not messy at the restaurant or lounge area.

Verified reviewThe breakfast was outstanding. I actually ordered 2 meals. I was only able to eat half of each. But I definitely took the rest for a snack later. Every employee I came across, were exceptionally polite, nice, helpful and eager to assist in all aspects of our stay.
We stayed for the 4th of July, and hung out at the pool. There were so many people drinking alcoholic beverages. With them rarely exercising prudence in exciting the pool to use the restrooms. I only entered the pool at the beginning of the day. I dared not enter after. Yuck !

Since it is a new hotel they seem to have some kinks they need to work out like staffing. Most of the issues would be resolved with more staffing. We will go back in hopes that they have worked it out.

Verified reviewWe stayed during the workweek in the Upper Stories section in mid April 2025, the hotel is still very new at this point and we were told the section we were staying in had only opened a week or two prior. The room was clean, bed was comfortable, had a very large bathroom and shower. Being in the Upper Stories section also gave us access to an additional pool, since we stayed during the workweek we mostly had this to ourselves which was fantastic. You can still order the poolside bites to get delivered which was an unexpected perk! You do have to walk a bit to get to this area (up an elevator, out a door, down a short path, and then we were up another elevator again) but it wasn't a nuisance, just FYI. The food and drinks at Lola Rosa were wonderful, we only ate in the lounge and at the bar though. The location of the hotel is fantastic, very centrally located in downtown Palm Springs, we were able to walk to most places we wanted to get to but if not (or if we just didn't want to walk) the hotel has a service were they will drive you anywhere within a 3 mile radius, such an amazing perk that we didn't see advertised on the site!
One thing I did note during the stay, they play music everywhere, I think to drown out any sounds from outside the hotel itself which they were successful with, but if you're trying to get to bed earlier might be bothersome.

Verified reviewThey apologized that our room was a walk-up (booked last minute) but it was so convenient to the restaurant/pool/elevator to lobby, I loved it! The steps weren’t too much at all and they were very helpful with our baggage. No complaints!
Housekeeping came quite early in the day, we were still in bed. When we asked for later service we had to follow up twice. But no biggie.
