Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe game room area and laundry room seem to be in need of a renovation. It poured one morning and the water was leaking through the roof in the laundry area. Also, the game room was fun, but smelled a bit musky. The pool overlooking the water was beautiful, but the coverings for the lounge chairs had a lot of stains and were soaking wet after it rained. There were a lot of insects in the pool - ear whigs galore and some spiders. The pool definitely needed to be vacuumed/skimmed daily, and I never saw that done while I was there. I even volunteered to remove some of the bugs, but the net I was given wasn't effective.
The location on the water, the pretty appointments in the hotel itself, the outdoor s'mores area, corn hole and sitting areas, the game room, our room was spacious and had a pretty view, the beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was huge, nice toiletries, beautiful pool on the water, and access to a shuttle and trolley. We loved the Windjammer fireworks cruise which was wonderful!

United StatesIt was the perfect spot for our son - so many activities to keep him busy without having to leave the premises (playground, pool, indoor play area). We loved the complimentary boat ride, the heated pool and the overall vibe of the resort. It was super close to town but at the same time a little oasis. We would definitely come again.

United StatesWould have liked to see more options for food. Fireplace in suite didn’t work. Had 3 people try and fix it but nobody could get it to work. Would have been nice to have since it was chilly at night.

United StatesThe only negative was that smores were not available due to the fact that it had rained earlier, however... I'm very sure that if we had gone to reception and straight up asked, they would've obliged.
Spruce Point Inn is a modern facility that reminded me of a quintessential old school family resort where the staff are there to make sure that you enjoy everything about your stay, with family games and activities, boat rides, water toys, pools, hot tubs, delicious food and quick access via trolley and shuttle to the entire town. Our double queen room was a spacious size and had a kitchenette, gas stove in the living room, very comfortable beds with a selection of pillow options and a wonderful porch with Adirondack chairs to soak in the relaxation. We needed ice and didn't know where to find it so we stopped an employee to ask and it was delivered to our room in less than 10 minutes. I would definitely return !

United StatesMy only small nitpick was the rooms used an actual key instead of a secured card like most hotels. The other item to mention was the location is not walkable to town but they did provide a shuttle service.
Overall a beautiful looking property that sits right on the harbor. Unique style lodging that was not like your typical hotel room but more like a upscale cottage. Everything was done well and we really enjoyed our time there. The front desk clerks were all very friendly. I believe her name was Camille who was exceptional.

Switzerlandthe hotel compund needs some renovation. The oven in our room did not properly work, but with a technician this was fixed. However, it was end fo the season, the hotel closed once we left, so maybe everybody was already very tired after a stressfull season.
We had a beautiful, spacious room, with a small over for the night when it was already turning cold. The restaurant was fine, we enjoyed breakfast and dinner there. Once, they helped us out even thought the restaurant was already closed! To walk down the coast towards the small haven town was a wonderfull experience. Thank you so much!
