How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Everything. It started off normal. The younger lady that checked me in was pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately I must have accidentally deactivated my room key and there was another older lady at the desk by this time. I did not have my ID because I had not planned to go off the property. I ended up back in the diner, where the office is, and there was no AC. The older lady did not check me in so she did not know that I had checked in already. The guy that also saw me check in vouched for me because she said she would have not let me back into my room without my ID. She gave me a nonsensical scenario that had nothing to do with the situation at hand. She said if I lose my key and someone finds it…which how would they know the name or room number if they found a random room key? They wouldn’t. She could have verified on her end some info FROM my ID. In trying to explain that to her she kept giving scenarios and info that had nothing to do with the situation at hand. She told me the night before some person gave their key to a friend and again, that situation was NOT comparable to mine. I would actually understand not letting me up if I was a friend of a friend and not listed as an occupant. She wasn’t accepting the advice I gave her in identifying someone without their ID. I told her she could have asked me to verify the address on the ID. The name on the account or even the room number and she just looked at me as if I was speaking a language She couldn’t compute. She literally said “well I don’t know what you want me to do”. I informed her that I just told her what she could have done. She wasn’t listening to understand but more to respond. She does NOT need to work in customer service if she can’t come up with solutions to customer services issues. If that older gentleman was not standing there I would have been locked out of my room because she refused to let me in OR think to verify info on the same ID she was requesting.

No real staff around in the building. You have to go into the diner to check in. Not many amenities in the room. No coffee available in lobby. (There is no lobby!) You have to ask for a coffee maker for your room. But Starbucks is 2 min away.

Verified reviewI couldn’t say what was nice because the room we were given had not been cleaned at all and it looked as if someone was already living in it.
We had a room with a king bed reserved for over a month. When we arrived we were given a room with two queen beds that had not been cleaned and was in complete disarray. We were told that there were no other rooms available and we were forced to scramble to find other accommodations. Also, the “front desk” is located at the diner next door. Weird.

Checking in at a restaurant and getting a key to a rook that someone was already sleeping in. Having to go back to the restaurant and get a new room that was substandard. Will not be staying there again.

Had to wait 10 minutes to check in. The lady was off property, had to wait for her return. The room was very dated, the beds were uncomfortable. There was NO soap in our room. Found a big bug in bathroom. Overall not a relaxing evening.

Only to find out that they didn't have a room for me even though i received a confirmation number for the booking. Very inconvenient and i will never recommend this place. Staff is very slow and terrible customer service.

They are still living under Covid rules. A coffee maker you have to get at front desk, no ice buckets in your room. 1 room had no cups another had no soap. Not enough room to put our luggage. Nowhere in bathroom to set things.
