How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

For a couple of hours in the morning someone was in the parking lot playing loud music and let their dog run up to my leashed dog multiple times.
Spacious and comfortable room. Very clean with fluffy bath towels.

While not something I didn't like, there was no place to hang towels in the bathroom. I thought that was odd.
Easy to locate. Room front parking. Safe neighborhood. Best to call ahead about having a pet rather than relying on notes via a third party. They were gracious about accommodating me. The room needed better lighting at the desk for working on a computer. It was a relaxing place.

Communication was difficult. Front desk person did not understand English very well, as well as I could not understand his heavy accent very well (I have trouble with accents). One out of my two companions was able to understand him better. Room (#21) with two queen beds only had one chair. Should have been at least two chairs. Room smaller than pics shown, but nice. Bathroom EXTREMELY small, only one person at a time. Pictures showed bigger bathrooms. Finally, a subtle yet bad smell constant in the bathroom. Sewage issues? Coffee maker had no paper filters. Overall, we would stay there again... just not room #21 (hoping for one with bigger bathroom).

I can’t think of anything!
The bed was nice, the room was clean. I had to check in late because I had to drive very far that night and they accommodated me. They also called to make sure I was coming and make sure I had their number. Very good value, I felt totally comfortable.

It would be helpful to have a trash can near the grassy area for dog waste bags.
The clerk was exceptionally nice. The room was spotless. It is a basic motel that fit our needs perfectly. A tremendous value.

I was unexpectedly surprised. I haven't stayed in a "motel" in a long time, and didn't have very high expectations of the motel, but the staff was really friendly and helpful, and my friends are I were very comfortable, and thought the room was cute. The beds were wonderful and we all slept very well!

Motel Nicholas more than met my expectations for a budget motel. The rooms were clean and comfortable. After a long drive, I don’t need a lot of space or bells and whistles. I just want a comfortable bed, a clean room, good water pressure in the shower, and pleasant staff. Motel Nicholas provided that.

The shower curtain. Needs a different rod. Had to hang it over the wall so it wouldn't touch me.
Location was great. It's a small town and you're pretty much in the middle. Quiet, clean motel.

End unit on the street was noisy. Took a really long time for hot water to make it to the sink (like luke warm after a minute). Price was a bit high for the overall quality, but it is probably high season and was certainly cheaper than other options. Room was no-frills older building, but well maintained.
Very clean, super tidy. Fast checkin, nice staff.

There was no table or chairs to sit at.
The beds were comfortable. The shower was very small however, the temperature and water pressure was good.

Very nice bathroom here, with nice tile flooring too, I was happily surprised. The lady who was cleaning the rooms when I checked out was very nice. If I'm ever in the area again, this motel will be my first choice to stay at. I only really needed the bed for the night so it was a bit of overkill for my needs, but it was great.

Nice staff running this motel. Beds comfortable. Dated, but clean.. Beautiful grounds keeping. I found the rooms to be very big compared to other similar motels
