Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandRoom felt a bit dated.. but it was still comfortable and very spacious, so I suppose that balanced things out
Great location. Room was very spacious. Very reasonably priced compared to most of the hotels in that area.

United StatesThe inability to lower the upper half of the window. Why not?? A ceiling fan would go a very long way in cooling the room.
It was very, very clean. The pillows smelled good. The towels were soft.

United StatesThere was no A/C. The decor was from 1950-s and the bathroom was not updated in the last two decades.
The location was very convenient. The restaurants linked to the hotel were very convenient and the food was very good.

ItalyThe WiFi is very poor, you may as well turn it off and rely on the phone's connection.
For its price this hotel is a very good option when staying in Seattle. I was impressed by how spacious the room was and while basic it didn't lack any essentials. The location is good too, about halfway between the Space Needle and Pike Market meaning you can walk to either if you want, and the neighbourhood felt reasonably secure even at night.

United StatesNothing. I was very concerned about staying without AC. We stayed first week of August and the temperature was cool outdoors. Windows open adequately and my mother was cold with the fan on.. Slept very comfortable.
Cute property. Room was decent size – if you think it’s small stay on an inside cabin on a ship. Loved the downstairs sitting area and attached Cafe.

United StatesNo AC. The weather was cool during my stay, by chance. Noise from the street may be a problem for light sleepers and/or people not used to cities. Cooling is by way of open windows. Housekeeping did not clean my room one day.
Proximity to the Convention Center and a light rail station. Minimal noise from other rooms, none at all from the elevator. Nice people at the front desk.

AustraliaI got a little lost one evening and felt unsafe a few blocks in the “wrong” direction! Solo? Get back before dark. No electric jug. But makes up for it with the claw foot bath etc.
Eclectic arty pieces, adjacent to funky neon cafe vibes. Art everywhere!

United StatesParking is somewhat difficult to get to due to one way streets. No AC and street traffic gets noisy early in the morning with the windows open. The cafe in the hotel is only open on weekends.
Clean, comfortable accommodations. Less expensive than nearby hotels.

United StatesIt’s an old hotel, so keep your expectations low and you’ll be fine. We discovered previous tenants hair on the toilet and linens. The fans provided by the hotel are filthy and dusty. There are minimal outlets and I’m not sure you could get away with using a power strip. Our outlet had a USB port, but it did not work. The claw foot tub… while pretty to look at, they are not functional. And the one in our room was wobbly, it felt like you were going to fall through. The shower curtains are also too small and stick to your body while you’re showering.
Location, location, location. We had minimal contact with the employees, but good interactions nonetheless.

United StatesBeing out on the west side on the 6th floor, very hot. The fans weren’t working properly. You need working fans. The curtains need to be changed to blinds so that you can close out the sun but bring in the wind/air still. The coffee shop was closed on a Wednesday morning. That was strange not to be able to get coffee or breakfast. The tv wasn’t working in our room either.
The beds were comfortable. The history is cool. The location is great. The shuttle available for cheap.

United StatesAdding to my initial review here, the hotel was very accommodating when we asked to store our luggage. We checked out at 11 am and our flight didn't leave until midnight. The hotel kept our luggage secure at no cost from check-out until we picked it up that evening and we greatly appreciated that!
