Some of the parasols are in bad shape. The place could use a bit of an updating with some fresh paint. The faucet in the bathroom barely spits out water.

Nice facilities, especially the sauna and ping pong table.

It was a little rough around the edges, but nothing too bad. Wish it was closer to more restaurants to be able to walk places. But that’s not the property’s fault

Loved that most of the original facade was there. True vintage charm!

Nothing within walking distance so a car is essential but it’s only a short drive to the Main Street and a grocery store.

It has the authentic retro Palm Springs style that we were hoping for. Quiet courtyard with pool, ping pong, hot tub, sauna and cold plunge. Coffee facilities and a fridge in room and a microwave in the common area. No staff on the property but had no issue with that. We arrived mid week and no other guests were there our first night so our toddler could roam free, happily.

Our room lock battery was low when we arrived and we couldn't get in. We reached out and they said they would send someone. We don't know if anyone ever came but the lock wasn't reliable, we used the backup key option for the rest of the trip.

I wanted to open the bathroom window for ventilation, but it was dark when we arrived and I wasn’t sure what was in the back since we were ground level. Also, there were a few things that were not there as advertised.

Love the swanky style.I wish we could have stayed longer. We only stayed one night due to an emergency we were driving to AZ. Not a party place, but a nice adult chill hotel with history.

Our room seemed to be the only one without chairs outside of it, the ice machine was broken the whole time we were there and there was amazon boxes stacked up all in the common area. Could have done with some more exciting/aesthetically pleasing pool floaties. Pool towels were hard to find on our first few days. Our room decor was a little odd. Adding a filtered water machine somewhere would be a great improvement.

Loved that they had bikes that you can use, the ping pong table and firepit we're also great. The toiletries we're great quality. liked the touch of the make up towels. ample towels and bins provided. liked the decor of the bathroom. Sun loungers were very comfortable. Gifts left at check-in we're a nice touch.

See above. Booking.com had an inaccurate description which was not the property's fault.

    • One-Bedroom Premium Apartment
    • Stayed 1 night

The reason for this low rating is NOT due to the property itself, but rather the inaccurate description provided by Booking.com (NOT the properties fault), which, on its site described the space as a 777 sq ft 1 bedroom apartment with a private pool. I willing paid a premium price for this space given the description, however when I arrived at the property I was placed in room 14. A very standard hotel room, probably closer to 225 square feet. I called Avant and they were very responsive but indicated they don't have any rooms that are 777 square feet, and none of the rooms have a "private pool". Fortunately, they were willing to cancel my booking and a moved to another hotel at a lower price, with a larger room.

Location is ok, but not ideal. General grounds seemed good, and room was decent enough. Avant team members were very responsive to my outreach and concerns about my room.

Quiet hotel with comfortable room at a great location. Unreasonably overpriced with misleading description of amenities.

    • Couple
    • One-Bedroom Apartment
    • Stayed 2 nights

There was a feeling of neglect. The bath was clogged with somebody’s hair that was gross, out of 3 light bulbs over the mirror only 1 was working, distasteful images on the wall. Small things that lowered the quality. But the major disappointment was completely misleading description of the room. It was advertised as a room with a special feature-private pool. But the pool was just one for all rooms, like in many other hotels in Palm Springs. Also the bathtub that was presented in the description is an extremely shallow one, more like a shower base, not usable as a tub. I chose the hotel for the private pool and the bathtub and agreed for the price because of that features, but there were absent. So the price seemed as unreasonable high.

The location of the hotel is excellent-quiet and off the tourist paths but yet in town and close to everything. Also it was very easy to get to the freeway. There are not so many rooms at the hotel, so there were few guests and the atmosphere was very peaceful. The bed was comfortable and I especially liked big windows. Small kitchenette is also a plus. There is a sauna on premises.

No check in details via booking.com blamed by the owner on them, odd, I have made many bookings by the same method without issue. fortunately I had a local SIM so could call, many would not have. The whole property was glossed over, look closely and it was just plain dilapidated/dirty. It’s right under the airport flight path, fine if you want to wake at 0615 but not relaxing. Also due to the gap in the mountains the wind howls through, allied with the nursery next door a cacophony. What would have been the office is now a repository for all sorts of supplies mostly toilet rolls and Amazon boxes, unsightly. Also, given that it’s miles from anywhere, would I recommend it? No.

Booking.com stated all rooms had kitchens. Room 10 di not have a kitchen.(Further information was scarce, unlike Booking.com's usual full descriptions) Our "apartment's amenities" were sparse - 2 coffee cups, no flatware, no plates. With a 3-star classification you would expect to find a tea-kettle and a microwave. Pre-stay communication was legalistic & bureaucratic (I had to do an electronic signature, take a face photo front & side view and sign an agreement contract; other communications were flowery and uninformative. A friendly staff person at HQ in LA had to talk to the team in Palm Springs to answer my query that they had no tea kettle. A later inquiry to the hotel (despite email avowals of wanting to meet our every need) went unanswered. No front desk, entry to hotel and our room only by entry-codes. AvantStay strangely described their philosophy as 'family friendly" but no kids allowed!) and "contactless" (but no human contact). It may've seemed like a good idea to convert a mid-century motel of architectural interest into spacious rooms with period furniture and cool decor, but we found the experience chilly and unfriendly. In addition there were numerous, old maintenance issues, some small, others of major importance which I've listed separately.

We almost missed the location; we arrived in the early evening when it was already dark and from the outside it was not as obvious or well lit where the entrance to the hotel is located.

Very cute place to stay! Loved the retro vibes of the place/courtyard. Room was clean, exactly as it was pictured, and the bed was really comfortable. There is a common room with games/TV/karaoke (we didn't use those things but there were other guests who were there using it) and a microwave (which we did use). There's also a water filling station outside by the pool. Unfortunately we only stayed one night and it was chilly to use the pool and firepit, which would have been fun!

Got 9 (!) emails from the resort after booking. I thought I'd let them explain whatever they want to express when I check in. As they copied previous emails in all further emails they sent - what kind of business is this? But on arrival, there was no lobby/reception. This wasn't explained in the emails. I didn't have access to my room, a cleaning staff didn't speak English and couldn't help me. Checking my emails again, I was asked to download an app. Ehm, my blackberry doesn't support all apps, sorry! I was given a mobile phone by another customer so I could call the office (as my Swiss mobile didn't work for calls in the U.S.). They couldn't help me straight away. The other customer's help got me into my room, finally. For someone not being completely integrated with the latest electronics in the US system might fail getting in his room here.

Cosy and in a quiet area.
