How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewDepending on where you're visiting in Yosemite, this is a 50 min - 1.5 hr drive away. The owner gave clear instructions on how to get to the place. She also left home baked bread for us. A cozy stay that felt more like a home than a hotel. Great for a peaceful rest after a long day out hiking!

Everything was just perfect – the accommodation was clean and comfortable, and the whole atmosphere was calm and welcoming. As many others have mentioned, the food was simply fantastic. Every meal was delicious, made with care and creativity – honestly some of the best we’ve had in a long time (order the picnic basket for your day in Yosemite, you won't regret it 😉). Daniella is the best host in the world – incredibly kind, helpful, and attentive. She gave us great recommendations on what to see in the area and made sure we had everything we needed. Her hospitality truly made our stay unforgettable. I can wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone. If you're visiting Yosemite, don’t miss it!

Hello! Thanks for staying with us. Our tiny Nugget is super clean and has every comfort needed for our guests stays. There are enough outdoor lights for our guests to see the driveway and the little cabin. And yes you are right…not a bunch of artificial lights because we are in the countryside and the nature take care of it: we have the stars and the moon lightening up the sky.

Verified reviewThe host Daniela is super nice and kind. :) They kept the cabin so neat and well equipped. There’s coffee maker, fridge, and microwave. It’s also about 45mins drive to Yosemite National Park which is so convenient. We enjoyed our stay here and we will definitely come back!
The airconditioner is too loud so we didn’t really used it especially at night.

The only issue would be the water pressure. It’s really low it helps to have it higher especially after a long hike

Verified reviewWe’ve stayed in the tiny house. It was really great. Although it was very hot the a/c worked good. Also in the nighttime it’s really beautiful to sit outside and watch the stars. And the best thing was of course Daniela her home made Italian food. It was delicious!! The ride to Yosemite is also manageable. Keep up the good work Daniela, we’ll definitely come back some day.

Verified reviewThe sign at the front gate is very off putting - It read 'Trespassers will be subject to a citizen's arrest'. Frankly, it made me quite afraid, and I don't think properties that have such an attitude of belligerence should be allowed on commercial booking sites.
Hello Penny, Yes we have a no trespassing sign that also says “No trespassing, unless you are invited or delivering”. So I consider your review a 10/10, because there is nothing wrong with it. Verified reviewDaniela the proprietor was lovely, kind, attentive, and an amazing chef. She goes above and beyond to make us feel at home. Daniela accommodated an extra guest, a friend, allowing him to pitch a tent. The location is really special with beautiful sunsets. Sits atop a hill. Bathroom and shower are roomy. Outdoor deck off apartment is nice. 40 minutes to Yosemite south gate, convenient. Town if Coarsegold is charming, with many locals and not so many tourists. The local grocery store was great.
A photo of a pool is on the listing, but the pool has been filled in, a disappointment. The bed in the north bedroom sags, and I had to move the mattress off its frame to the floor to be able to sleep on it.
Hello Charles, thanks for staying with us. In our listing on booking there are no pictures of the pool. We had a pool but it broke 4 years ago and we decided to transform that area in a beautiful backyard. Regarding the mattress, it’s a tall memory foam and maybe it’s not your type of mattress.
