How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The bathroom was horrible and not at all like other holiday inns. The sinks were falling apart, the caulking around the tub and tile was sloppy, the bathroom ceiling repair work look like a toddler did it as well as the carpet in the room was dirty and cigarette stains on the furniture to say the least.

Verified reviewThe chef who cooked the breakfast was PHENOMINAL ! She was very nice and courteous, she was very attentive to make sure the food was fresh and that the guest were satisfied with the menu. She went above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. I really liked her personality she was very welcoming. She should be the employee of the year ! I wish I could hire her. I forgot her name, but I did not forget her food, and her pleasant personality.
The room was not ready when I checked in. When I got to my room the beds were unmade, the room was in shambles and I had to go back down stairs to wait for a room of my type to become available. Also, I did not like the lobby area, very small and not inviting. The baggage carrier was broken, I had loaded all my luggage up on it then I begin to pull the cart and the rails begin to come apart, and the wheels, were wobbling, it was a mess. The manager (I guess) came in and seen it and told the employees not to have broken equipment out for the guess to use ???? How embarrassing

Verified reviewBreakfast complementary was great. The room is big enough for me and my family.
The bathroom shower curtain is damaged, water is splashing outside because of the shower curtain. The bathroom ceiling and the bath tub are dirty. We asked the front desk if they could give us new towels especially the floor towels because it's soaking wet none came into our room to give us new towels. The door doesn't close well unless we slammed it or used our key to lock from the outside. Room 305 needed some attention.

Verified reviewNo air in my room manager said portable units would cool.off room.Had to put ice in throught the night breaking our sleep So hot we sweated our clothes wet. When asked could I get another hotel because I didn't pay upfront couldn't get a another hotel for inconvenience. Did drop the rate but hot as the room was should've been less than rate quoted.
Air was out couldn't help find a comfortable replacement.

My experience checking into the hotel and my experience with the front desk staff who was also the General Manager. There was a discrepancy where I was charged twice for the hotel stay. A week later I am still waiting for the money to be placed back onto my card.

Room not clean. Hair on the floor and in the sheets. Soap dispenser in shower was broken. Bed sheets were dirty looking. Elevator stopped and scared us several time. Pool was nasty and not able to use. People walking around the lobby with guns on their hip.

Breakfast was cold & wasn't good, other guest were loud late at night which made it hard to fell asleep, pool wasn't open & elevator was broken, if you room on the upper floors, you have to walk up the stairs with your stuff.
