Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomValet only parking, and this was expensive, particularly when it is the next door garage that is used (using this is $18 compared to valet $54 plus tax). Also compulsory $30 destination charge, which is just a hike in room rate for little benefit

New ZealandThe extra costs, taxes and charges that follow on arrival, after you’ve booked and paid in advance. Complementary water in the room would’ve been great as a supplementary to the tea & coffee that is offered.
Beautiful hotel. Lovely and pleasant as soon as you walk in with the bar and lounge at the entrance. Very comfortable and clean. Location is great in downtown LA. Staff are very lovely and pleasant. Loved that the room had a full bath tub which is rare treat not offered in many hotels we’ve stayed at around the world; bed is very comfortable; room and closet space is spacious, clean with great furnishings; window that you could open to let in some fresh air; fridge is available in the room; USB ports next to the bedside lamp was fantastic - it was the small things that made our stay enjoyable especially coming from overseas and for our final leg of our first holiday in USA.

United StatesMandatory $30 daily charge for “conveniences” that I didn’t want. The floor I was staying on smelled strongly of marijuana.

CanadaAn extremely overpowering scent in the lobby - it was like breathing a Christmas candle and was choking for anyone sensitive to scents. My room was on the first floor and had a joining door that had no soundproofing. I was wakened at 6am every morning by my neighbor having conference calls (sorry about your layoffs), and kept up late past midnight by his South Park binges on TV. It was clean and well kept otherwise. The bar had three beer choices, all bad ones. Three.
The lobby and bar placement were great and the decorations were beautiful. The breakfast was good (but not worth $30 yeesh).

CanadaIf you choose to pay at the hotel, they will scam you for an extra $25+tax hotel fee which they justify by free wifi (this is a basic requirement for a hotel in the 21st century) and a discount on an overpriced breakfast (for what you get, they could do better). The carpets in the room were clean but didn't feel clean barefoot so I had to put on socks when I got to my room.
Had a view of the nearby library which was wonderful. I was able to leave the window open without getting the street noise and have fresh air in the room without using the AC. Front desk staff are friendly and helpful, along with the wonderful waitresses at breakfast which is a big reason I chose to have breakfast there instead of venturing out. Old school look of the hotel was great and I loved the architecture.

United StatesSeemed understaffed like everything in the states these days. I got a text from somebody at the hotel telling me to text back if I needed anything. Great! Asked for extra water bottles: no. Asked for a wine key: come down to the lobby and borrow it. Luggage cart to check out: come down and get one if you're lucky. You get it. Part of a hotel stay is the comfort and having a clean room every day, but another part is being served. Felt like I was running downstairs for everything in my pj's because I was surprised they wouldn't just send it up.
Clean and quiet for downtown, there was a big outdoor concert in Pershing square and we didnt hear it unless we opened all the windows. Walking distance to pretty much everything worthwhile and friendly useful valet who told us where to park for much cheaper

United StatesHomeless people! Literally saw people doing crack outside our window. But thats expected in LA! However,I really wanted to emphasize on the bar service… When we sat down to get our complimentary drinks, that we had to pay for amenities $25 the bartender was extremely incapable of acknowledging us and giving us a menu! In fact, after sitting for 10 mins he said he would be right with us. 10 mins after the lady next to us rang him down and ordered and he just looked at us. Didnt even bother to see if we wanted a menu! Anyway we were short on time heading to a show so we left and that was when he finally acknowledged us. If you guys are busy on a Saturday night have 2 people at the bar or someone cross trained to handle front desk and bar! There is no reAson to have 2 people at front desk doing NOTHING at 7pm! I was literally observing! But yeah i 100% would not stay here again bc of service.there are nicer hotels with a working elevator and bigger rooms! I excepted better for the hilton! So disappointed
Really nice and clean.
