Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United StatesThe pictures on the website make it seem like the hotel is pretty high end, which was misleading because in reality it’s on the older side. Also, i would suggest having more employees around check-out time. There was only one person helping everyone at check out.

The hotel location is quite good. It's a 5-minute walk away from Powell Station. Nearby the Union Square. Maybe, this is the traditional hotel. However, the room was kept clear.

However, the room was smaller than expected, and the 'double bed' was more like a single bed, not ideal for two people. At the reception they mentioned it’s a petit room which I was not aware of while reserving . So anyone booking this pls take a note Overall, it was a comfortable stay, but the room size and bed were a bit of a letdown.

United StatesRoom prep apparently is not their strongest skill: there was no shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom when we checked in (which I naturally only discovered when I tried to take a shower). The AC did not work at first, and even when I asked about it at the reception and it was turned on, it did not really cool anything down - at least having the fan on was something. The room itself is not as updated as it appears on the picture, the building is quite old and so are the rooms.
The hotel is located less than a block from the Union Square, with easy access to the subway, Market Street, and not too far from Embarcadero and Chinatown. The 24/7 check-in desk is very helpful in case of late arrival. The room was fairly large, but part of the space was used by the hall, and the actual bedroom space felt crammed. The beds were quite comfortable.

New ZealandThe hotel is in two parts and on two levels separated by a pool. From the lobby it can be difficult to get a large amount of bags across the hotel from the lobby if you are in the Farrell Street side. Having said that there is an elevator from the hotel parking garage.
Its our second time here (the last was 20 years ago). It was a great hotel then and it is again this time. It’s so handy to everything and we love the business of the heart of the city. Restaurants are too many to count and the old style diners are a constant. The rooms are large for hotels in this area, ours was on the highest floor and had it on small balcony overlooking the pool. The Handlery has a historic feel and has many hints of its long history. The staff are great.

United KingdomThe location is brilliant. We walked from there to Fisherman's Wharf and Oracle Park and you're steps away from Union Square. For a city centre hotel the staff were really friendly and helpful. They stored our luggage for us from check out until we were ready to leave SF at 5.30. The room wasn't huge but it was comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. The bathroom was good.
