How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The employees didn’t speak English, we requested towels for our second and third day and had to fetch them ourselves at the front desk. It was supposedly a non-smoking hotel, but there were cigarette butts everywhere! People were up late talking and partying on the deck outside our room

Verified reviewThe location was OK, and the older lady cleaning in the main entrance area was immaculate and always busy.
Upon checking in, the woman helping us was awkward. She had to go in the back and get a guy who could not speak English very well and ask him every single question. Even though I told them my husband was disabled they put us on the second floor and up around the backside along a long walkway. And said walkway was full of litter and cigarette butts even though it is supposed to be a non-smoking hotel. People were out on the walkway until late in the night. We had to ask for new towels each day. Even though we did we still had to go down and collect them ourselves at the front desk. The “breakfast“ was waffles and toast with one choice of jam and no beverages and a giant gallon size jug of syrup to pour from on weekdays. Then on the Saturday they added a few things, yogurt is all I can really remember, but very pathetic offering to say breakfast is served.

Verified reviewNot a dang thing. The only positive thing was that someone was checking out right when I came to check in and they let me know that there were BED BUGS on their mattresses. Because I witnessed this conversation, this desk attendant let me see my room before I let him take my money.
Because he let me see the room, I was able to see the filthy condition the room was in prior to swiping my card & holding up my money. The room was filthy. I took a video and posted on Google. I came back down and asked him when the last time housekeeping cleaned the room. He said 8/13/25 and nobody has checked in since. Yeah right. If they didnt check in, they broke in and im not trying to be there when they get back. No thanks. -5 stars

Verified reviewThe shower had good pressure, the bed was comfy. That’s absolutely it though.
The cleanliness of the room or the lack of cleanliness I should say. Amenities are listed incorrectly on the listing. Ended up being a hot spot for car theft/burglary, prostitution, and drugs. The police that patrol that area were fantastic though! Never thought I’d say that about local police. Felt sketchy and unsafe the whole night. The days inn where I’m from are always clean, comfy, affordable places to stay so I was shocked when I got to the room. There’s honestly wayyy too many things to complain about, I have photos on my phone though.

Old. Dated. Needs repairs. Free breakfast was a joke! Homeless people living in the hotel!! We told the front desk clerk that we were out of conditioner and body wash in the shower, and that we needed toilet paper and Kleenex. No one ever addressed it.

The room was very clean, the hotel was quiet compared to others I've stayed in, and there are many food options available within walking distance or a very short drive. The area where the elevators are located is all windows and was very hot. The air conditioning was not handling it.
