The rooms are very spacious and clean. The staff is very helpful and the location is excellent for UVA and the UVA Hospital.

Access in and out is difficult, accomplished from only one direction on the road it's on. When we got there a huge Soda delivery truck was in the in lane, and three vans checking in were in the no parking out-lane exit lane, then they people in the van buddied up in the line ahead of us - so frustrating checkin. Also the thermostats in the room are adjustable, but are on a motion sensor, so the room won't stay the right temperature if you try something radical like leaving the room or sleeping. Seems like a poor solution. Had to have maintenance come and make the wall unit function independent of thermostat so we wouldn't freeze in bed.

The breakfast was super expensive. I believe that when I booked the room there was mention of a fixed price breakfast for $10, but there was not sign of that so we ended up paying $50 for what would have cost $25 off premises. Also, when the bill came, it included a charge and taxes for parking, but we did not have a car. I asked for it to be removed and was told it would be, but I never got any written confirmation.

I liked the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. In particular, the man who checked us in found a room that was ready, so we could check in a little earlier than normal. I liked how clean the room was, how it was appointed and that there was a gym in which to exercise.

The room key always didn’t work. During our stay for the 10 days, we have come across at least 10 times the room key didn’t work, which is quite inconvenient. Some front desk staff are friendly. Some are very cool. Don’t know if it’s their style.

We were interested in walking the UVA campus, and this location was great. Good coffee and food options nearby. We were able to do all that we wanted to by walking.

I definitely think there shouldn’t be a charge for parking considering the cost of the room. I also think a continental breakfast should be included.

Our room was clean, but the toilet and shower area looks tired. The grout was clumpy with a touch of mildew hiding beneath it and there were a few cracked floor tiles. Because it was clean, it was easy to overlook.

The parking situation for Charlottesville was reasonably priced and very convenient. I have a parent being treated at UVA. The staff was so professional, kind and accommodating. That meant a great deal to us during a stressful time for the family.

The parking garage entrance design is horrible. It forced us to get out of our car to use the room key to open the gate. Very inconvenient.

The Starbucks type operation was good. Very friendly and the limited menu met our needs. I also liked the fitness center...clearly above average.

- laundry room should have a quarter machine - the bistro was somehow always closed - there should be special rates for people staying at the hotel because of loved ones in the hospital - better toilet paper - more than 2 towels per room- should at least be 4

The room was not cleaned daily but perhaps we could have requested it. The towels were replaced though every day .

We had a difficult time finding the property because of the small signage on the main roadway. We were a little confused with the main entrance being on the side street.

The property was in walking distance of UVA medical center. Shops and restaurants were steps away. Staff was very accommodating.

My refrigerator and micro leave were unplug and I couldn't get to the outlet to plug them in. Called front desk and someone came and fixed it within the hour.
