How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewHost was very accommodating and helpful.
Room was outdated and the bathroom had holes in with insects. Shower was cold despite running it for a while as advised. Wifi was intermittent.

Verified reviewSurrounded by nature, excellent location, literally next to the Entebbe Botanical Garden. It's also near Victoria Mall (10 minutes). Near lake victoria's shore (both via botanical garden and Nambi Road). The hosts are very kind and helpful. I had to leave for the airport at 3 AM, and they prepared breakfast for me the night before. The room was clean and spacious, with a double bed and a TV, and garden view. WiFi was available and good.

Verified reviewI enjoyed the location as it was right beside the botanical gardens and two restaurants. Victoria Mall is within walking distance. The owner is very nice and welcoming. The breakfast was huge and filling. I enjoyed the garden area that the accommodation has. The room is a dark, basic room with a bathroom. There is a fan in the room and a mosquito net around the bed, which was necessary to use at night time for me.

Verified reviewNot towels, not soap, not enough toilet paper ( they left only one already started) the shower was not working, the bed was uncomfortable, the breakfast was good enough, good location but they need improvement, the hotel looked like under construction that is uncomfortable and dirty, the WiFi router died at the middle of the night, the room was tiny

Verified reviewGreat location, nice terrace with a view of the botanical garden. Staff was very nice and flexible!
When in the room, you could hear the noise from other rooms or the kitchen pretty well. That could have been better

Verified reviewThe family is very friendly and helpful. I was allowed to have friends coming over for an evening. The room was basic and absolutely sufficient for my stay. The location is perfect for relaxation. The botanical garden is just next to the facility. There is a nice restaurant next door recommended by the owner. Victoria Mall is also walking distance for any purchases you need to do. I would always chose to stay there again for a short stay.

Verified reviewThe environment and views around property. The host was good plus the view sitting out is nice and comfortable.
The property needs good maintenance especially the washroom and on the beds as mattresses are old and pressed down when hevy weight person sleeps. Fans also need to be in good condition. Ventilation inside room is not good.

Verified reviewWe arrived into Entebbe to start a long East Africa self-drive birding trip. We had such a great stay! The property is adjacent to the Entebbe Botanical Gardens which allows for fantastic birding. We stayed 3 nights as we were traveling from the United States and wanted some time to shake the jet lag. The breakfasts were excellent, fresh fruit and omelet scrambles, hot coffee and tea. Henry and Precious were even nice enough to let us check in very early as our flight arrived at 3:30 am. They even cooked us a light breakfast on our early check-in day! Not only that, but I left my binoculars behind and Henry shipped them to Nairobi for me! If you are flying into Entebbe, or if you are planning on visiting the Entebbe Botanical Gardens, you cannot beat this spot. Thank you so much Henry and Precious!

Definitely highly recommend this hotel!
Maybe can have better wifi in the room?

Verified reviewThis is a spacious colonial era house overlooking the botanical gardens - it felt like being in the gardens. Very quiet and peaceful yet close to restaurants and shops. It's a guest house rather than a hotel with a charming affable host and lovely staff who catered to our every need. Great breakfast too. Such a relaxing place to stay at the end of a long East African tour.

Verified reviewLocated very conveniently (it is less than 5 minute walk from the Victoria Mall, about 10 minutes from/to the airport, and right in front of the Botanical Garden entrance). Beautiful garden. Good breakfast. Flexibility with your plans. Mosquito nets in the rooms. Hot water.
No-frills, but still a good option if you don’t need luxury.

Verified reviewMy goal was to be close to the botanical garden because I wanted to visit. Well, there is the beautiful view and you can’t get any closer to the entrance! So that was great. And the sunrise is very pretty during breakfast. Owner and staff are very friendly.
The room is basic. Hot water depends on the solar system - I did not have hot water.

Verified reviewHenry is a wonderful host, full of friendly courtesy and a genuine desire to help. The place has a decayed grandure that is amazing, and the music Henry has on the radio adds to the atmosphere. The gardens are lovely, the location next to the botanic gardens perfect.
The plumbing wasn't exactly reliable (cut off mid shower) and the WiFi was intermittent.
