However, the smaller hut-style rooms were not great. One of our roofs leaked, and the bathrooms these rooms share could use some TLC. That said, Mounir and Safina were kind enough to move one of our party with a leaking roof into a garden view room for which she was very happy. So yes, with the right room choice, one of the best experiences we've had!

This is an absolutely stunning property with the right room choice <3 Safina and Mounir are some of the gentlest, warm hosts who make you feel at ease and at home. The breakfast included is lovely, and the property has a rustic charm, and plenty of cute kittens, which give it an authentic Zanzibar feel. We also loved the location. Between the West and East coasts of Nungwi, it was easy to access beaches all around - head West if you want a busier vibe and East for more tranquil settings. The King Rooms with Garden views are exceptional. Large, great bathrooms with excellent shower pressure, safes, and air conditioning. We also loved the included breakfasts!

The owner of the property and the girls who manage the hotel were very friendly and polite. This is the best budget hotel we've stayed in Tanzania. The property is clean and well-maintained, with modern amenities and lots of plants. 5 mins walk from the Nungwi beach, we were able to make multiple trips to the beach to watch high and low tides along with sunsets after short naps every now and then.

I stayed here during low season and we have experienced a lot of electricity power cuts (as a street not just Zanzigo), perhaps to be more prepared with power chargers or candles.

Mouir the manager has been extremely helpful, especially on arrival when I needed assistance with exchange of money etc. Property is close to the beach and the rooms are good size and cute.

The garden is overgrown so lots of mosquitoes, difficult to access some rooms.

Air conditioning, great shower, very nice rooms, comfortable beds, has wifi (but kinda spotty). Manager is responsive. About 10 min walk to nearest beach, shops and restaurants very close.

I only had one problem as I wished to extend my stay and there was a lack of communication with the owner.

The room was amazing, it shows it is new. The location is more quiet than central area (I prefer this) so it assure a good sleep. Beds and illumination were really good too. Good breakfast and nice personal.

Unfortunately, during our stay, we had multiple power outages every day, and this affected our aircon, wifi connection, and water supply.

Beautifuly designed hotel and very spacious and rooms. friendly and helpful staff and the place is in a good location and walking distance to the beach. Breakfast was very good too.

We had a really nice time at the Zanzigo hotel! The rooms were nice and clean, and a good air conditioning. Also the host Mounir was amazing and helped us with everything, and to get the best prices for trips. The breakfast was also really good.

I initially didnt know I would stay in the Maasai hut, this could be specified for explicitly on the booking.com page. It was a cool experience though, I just wish I had known or it didnt become so evident to me during the booking.

Mounir and the team were so friendly and hospitable. I initially went into the Maasai hut, but due to electricity cuts I was allowed stay a night in the larger room. Also sleeping in the Maasai hut was a cool and interesting experience. I enjoyed my stay at the site!

From time to time, there are water and electricity outages, but unfortunately, that’s just part of the reality in the entire area—nothing major to worry about.

I truly appreciated the location, nestled in the eastern part of Nungwi, offering a peaceful and serene atmosphere. The room was beautifully designed, featuring large windows that flooded the space with natural light, and it was thoughtfully equipped to ensure comfort.

The stuff was so kind, supportive and attentive. Indeed, since the first interaction I felt the quality of service. Breakfast was awesome with fruits, scrambled eggs and coffee. The location is very good just at the north of Zanzibar with both west and east side just a few minutes away walking. Special kudos for all the nice people I meet, including of course some guests and for my friend Mounir who was superb being a super host ! I totally recommend this place to enjoy Zanzibar.

Breakfast was a little bit too simple and not enough variety We encountered some problems due to island blackouts. Some hotels do have generators but this was not the case. So we did not have light and water for some hours. Staff gave us some candles but we could not get water in the room. We know it's not the hotel's fault, but it was an inconvenience for us

The staff was very friendly and tried their best to ensure a nice stay. They even offered us a room as we arrived earlier than expected Mounir was a fantastic host and accompanied us to some places to make sure we did not get lost (the beach, the restaurant...). The bed was a bit uncomfortable (the matress was slightly bigger than the bed frame and because of this it was tilted on the sides) The wooden door of the room was afected by rain and the only way to shut it properly was by brute force (which was a very noisy and annoying method) Other minor issues : we received only one small soap and after asking for another one the staff forgot about our request ; we had a broken adapter in the room and there was no spare available.

Cozy lodge with nice garden. Staff was very friendly and helpful, the room for us was great for the price with AC. Beach is about 4 minutes by walk, we found 4-5 nice local reastaurants within 5-6 minutes by walk both on the beach and in the village. Nice location.

We had a cockroach in our bathroom and after telling the staff about it the problem didn't go away. We had to spray our bathroom against roaches ourself.

I enjoyed the energy of the place and the host. They have an incredible service and a good breakfast. Mattress is so comfortable. If you are a nomad and think to stay more time, there is not a share kitchen but the place is pretty near of a restaurante and other places that you can buy food. The food is a regular price.

The two gazebo were not possible to access as the grass has not been cut in a while. Mohammed (the manager, I assume) is treating the staff poorly and with unnecessary show of power, which is even done in front of customers. Breakfast was very poor, with no veggies, no butter, just 2 eggs, 3 bread slices, some jam, and fruit. Room facilities were minimal. Generally, everything needs maintenance.

The location was in a quiet area, so there was no problem with noise during the night. Large open garden/green area and large terraces.
