With a full room there will probably be a bit of a wait for the bathroom, because there are just 3 stalls, one with a toilet, one with a toilet and a shower, and one with a standalone shower.

The hostel was nice and clean with warm water. The beds have curtains and an outlet. The staff were all very kind and helpful. There’s a kitchen as well as a fridge which is nice to have access to. It’s only a bit of a walk from the ferry if walking doesn’t bother you, and there’s a little store right by it. It was a good value!

Great place to stay in the heart of Stone town close to everything. And the owner is really friendly and Helpful feels like she is our mom , the place is Clean and calm and has a kitchen to cook, highly recommended

Great location only 5-10 minute walk from key sites like depo for Nakupenda Sandbank, Slave exhibition, Darajani Bazaar & the Freddie Mercury house. As it is in the centre of Stonetown it is also only 10mins from the airport. Can see the sea from there. Super nice host who was so lovely and accommodating. I booked it last min, the night before and messaged asking could I leave my luggage before a tour. She messaged instantly and left me in, even though I arrived even earlier than expected at 7.15am. She ensures your comfort and gives advice for tours/ restaurants. Private beds with curtains. Each bed also has a modern socket with USB & AC adapters. There are lockers with keys. Very new, just 4 months. There’s a kitchen area and bookings are blocked to make sure that there are not too many people in the room, but allow for more if travelling in one big group.

Vuga hostel is a quite new hostel, well equipped and maintained, run by very nice and helpful host Jelena. The place is safe, clean and perfectly located in Stone Town. Quiet at night, with very comfortable beds and good WiFi. Very good quality for a cheap price. I can highly recommend.

I stayed at Vuga Hostel in Stone Town for a couple of days and had a really lovely experience. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. The place is clean and well-maintained — from the common areas to the bathrooms. My bed was absolutely beautiful and incredibly comfortable, which made it easy to relax after exploring the town. A great little spot to stay if you’re looking for comfort, good vibes, and a central location in Stone Town!

The staff were very professional, attentive and courteous with a quick response to my needs. The rooms are well maintained and comfortable. From the hostels, you can easily access most attractions and dining places.

The hostel is located on the second floor, so there is 44 steps to climb. For 2 days I was the only one in the hostel, so no atmosphere. It got better on the 3rd day when someone else came.

The owner were welcoming and helpful. The place was spotless. The location is good.
