How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewHidden gem. Amazing boutique hotel. The rooms were clean, well appointed and comfortable. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay absolutely delightful. We were waited on and every need was met. Christian and Ellude were simply magnificent. The food was outstanding, fresh and full of flavour. The view of Mt. Kilimanjaro was spectacular. Thank you Pink Flamingo, highly recommend.
The only suggestion would be a second mirror in the hotel rooms, so when someone is showering, the second person can still get ready.

Verified reviewThe property is beautifully built and designed. Feels like a luxury tropical villa Staff was amazing. The owners family highly welcoming and helpful. The spa was great. Rooms are very spacious and tastefully furnished.
The approach road. Wish they can build that road to a proper concrete path. They can also work on their menu. Options are very limited. Some local and other global options would be great. We didn't eat at the property now than once.

Verified reviewOur stay at the Pink Flamingo pre- and post-Kili climb totally surpassed expectations. I have stayed in many international 5* hotels and genuinely preferred this to most of them. The ambience, food (amazing Italian food) and service (special shout out to Frederik). It is all perfect and I cannot recommend it enough.

Verified reviewTruly the best – an unforgettable stay at Pink Flamingo in Moshi! My stay at Pink Flamingo was absolutely exceptional. From the moment I arrived until the day I left, everything was perfect. The atmosphere is peaceful and beautifully designed, with a serene garden and a lovely pool that feels like an oasis. I want to give my heartfelt thanks to the owners and the entire staff – for their kindness, warm smiles, genuine hospitality, and outstanding service. Every detail shows how much they care about their guests, and that makes all the difference. Thank you for everything – your care, generosity, and warmth will stay with me. Pink Flamingo is not just a hotel – it’s an experience that stays in your heart. I will definitely return. ❤️
Amel what a wonderful review…… we are all happy to hear that you loved Pink Flamingo hospitality. Your review gives us the enthusiasm to continue our work every day. You are very welcome anytime…. Teresa Leandro and all Pink team.

Verified reviewThis was the perfect place to stay both before and after our Mt Kili hike. The hotel is a beautifully appointed boutique space that exudes understated luxury — peaceful, intimate, and thoughtfully designed. The pool was a welcome treat, and the food was delicious and of excellent value (which is noteworthy as if you don't have a car, there aren't any other food choices close by). The staff were very friendly and happily stored our luggage that we didn't require for the hike.
We absolutely loved our stay — the hotel is a beautifully appointed boutique space that truly exudes luxury. The only small downside (and one that’s understandably outside the hotelier’s direct control) was the behaviour of a fellow guest. The atmosphere did shift a little with children running around the pool area, which took away from the otherwise peaceful, refined vibe. Perhaps a gentle policy or signage could help preserve the tranquil setting the hotel does so well to create.

Verified reviewI’m staying here for many years but this time it’s a disappointment. The service. The approach. They just want your money that’s it. They used to care. Now they don’t care at all.
They robbed us of 1500€ + very expensive glasses for €400. They have cameras everywhere but no one saw anything. They said they would investigate. 3 weeks later nothing. Not a word. We had a small bill to pay for food. No discount. No apologies… it’s disgusting!
Hello Daria, As we have previously mentioned we have a report from the local authorities on the incident and followed through with the investigation. We apologies for the inconvenience this has caused you but according to the report and CCTV footage that had been reviewed soon after your departure there was no sign of forced entry into the room. We always recommend the use of our safes provided in each room which unfortunately was not used in your case. We are always looking to offer the best experiences for our guests and news such as this truly saddens our day, however we have exhausted all our resources and believe to have done our due diligence on the matter. Kind regards, - Flamingo Team

Verified reviewStaff is really helpful. Keen to help. Coffee and tea available free anytime. Beautiful decor. Good swimming pool.
Location. The access road to the property. Restrictive to go to down town as far from main town. Taxis can be expensive Mosquitoes: Room and common area full of mosquitoes Internet: Difficult to connect with no solution provided. Construction work happening on the property - so noisy.
Hello Ashish, Thanks for your review, I am sorry to see that in your review the negative things are more than the positive ones, in fact you had the misfortune of happening on the day that we built the antenna for the new internet system with fiber optic cable. In fact we had reduced internet speed all day. We apologize for this inconvenience. As for the distance from the city I think it is subjective, Moshi down town is only 5 kilometers, by car it is only 6 minutes and for the price of the taxi it is only tsh 10,000 the equivalent of USD 4. Best regards Leandro

Verified reviewWhat a gem! We travel a lot, but I think this place is definitely in our top three of unique destinations we've visited. The little boutique hotel is owned and managed by a charming and lovely Italian lady with a great eye for detail. Everything about it is of high standards - service, furnishings, garden, and decoration. The room was stunning - it was so spacious, with even fresh flowers. The coffee was the best (there were even different coffee machines!), and the pasta tasted like it was made in heaven. It was such a great and welcome change from the African cuisine (which we also love). We almost had the entire place to ourselves, so we truly felt like royalty. And we were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of Kilimanjaro - what an unforgettable experience! Absolut great value for money. We wished we would have stayed more nights there - for us it was 10 times more relaxing than in our Zanzibar stay (and also, in our humble opinion, with an even better view).
I would have to make up a lie to find something negative about this place :)
