Fantastic host, very, very helpful

Rooms are quite small. Bathroom is a wet room, with shower in the middle so whole floor gets wet. Meal service in the adjoining bar/restaurant is very slow. It took 2 hours from ordering our dinner to food arriving and when it did it was so over-cooked it was not nice. On our previous stay the service was also slow but the food delicious. Current major roadworks meant it took 45 minutes by taxi to the airport.

Best shower of our entire 2-week stay in Tanzania and a comfortable night's sleep on a good mattress in a quiet room with efficient air conditioning. Useful clothes hanging space in a wardrobe, plus a desk/dressing table in the room. Helpful staff, especially the 'boss' Stella who speaks excellent English having lived in US for many years.

The shower didn't have a shower head.

Stella the hostess was excellent and took care of whatever need we had even to the point of requesting the chef to accommodate our craving for briyani on a day it was not being offered.

Like an oasis in Dar es salaam. Beautiful gardens and a great breakfast included in the rate. The room had good working aircon and was very clean. Stella was so helpful through our whole experience. Wish we could have stayed longer.

We had a wonderful time at Haika Lodge where we stayed for three nights. The place felt safe and the rooms were clean. The host Stella, showed us how move around in the city and helped with recommendations and excursions. The Lodge also had a restaurant with local food. I you want a authentic local experience this is the place to go.

The Haika Home Lodge and espacially the Host Stella are awesome. The rooms were nice and clean. Stella welcomed us warm hearted, even though it was in the middle of the Night. She provided very helpful information for us and we had a really nice Chat. We defenetely recommend the accomodation:-)

One driver had a little trouble finding Haika Home Lodge at night. But it was no problem for us, it resolved itself quickly. It is just Nice to know beforehand in case :) The roads surrounding the Lodge are in poor shape.

Great place for a night before flying early the next morning! Would have loved to stay longer! Stella was a wonderful host. She gave us lots of good tips and answered very quickly on messages beforehand and during our stay. Stella arranged for transport to the airport and packed our breakfast. Good and big bed. The shower had good pressure. AC and fan was working very good.

The room was sparkling clean when we arrived. Stella and Karen were both very friendly and helpful. The restaurant they have next door was also great. Highly recommend!

The rooms were small but had every you needed. We were able to get transport arranged to get to and from the airport at 3am which was nice. The breakfast was good and they also had a nice restaurant next door which had good food as well.

There was nothing that I didn't like.

This is truly a home away from home, for someone who is looking for an authentic experience, with all you need, but without any luxury. The staff is extremely friendly, and Stella is the best host. People from the neighbourhood and guests alike come to the little restaurant. They have good, Tanzanian food. This is one of the most special experiences I ever had, and I was extremely lucky to find it. I can warmely recommend it, and will make sure to come back when I visit Dar es Salaam the next time.

A bit further from the airport than other similar types of lodges, but I felt it was worth it for the amazing service and convenience that was provided.

Stella, the manager of the guesthouse, is an incredible host. Not only is she professional, but also accommodating, informative and kind. I had the smoothest experience passing through Dar and would absolutely stay here again. The room was just what I needed, the WiFi worked great and the airport transport was so easy to coordinate. This is the perfect place to stay if just staying the night in transit to somewhere else. They also made real coffee instead of the instant stuff so that was a nice bonus!

We were in Dar Es Salaam for a very short business trip. Arrived at 03H00 at the morning and our hostess, Stella had arranged a shuttle for us. When arriving at the hotel, she was there to welcome us. Location was close to our place of business. Very comfortable facilities. Highly recommended.

Amazing cozy stay, feels like home. Very quiet area and quite close to the airport. Stella was kind enough to wait up even though check in was past midnight. Thankyou. Orientation was precise. Very very clean and the breakfast was delicious and filling. Be sure to try out the tea!! Also requested for airport transfer in and out and it went smooth. N. was punctual and made great conversation 😁
