A very central hotel in stone town. The hotel itself is an amazing facility making you feel you're living inside a museum. Very comfortable amenities. The staff were just wonderful and made us feel at home before we even arrived. Will be back for a longer stay for sure

The windows were very old, but it's not really a negative thing just adds to the vibe.

We booked the premium room called Langi Langi. It had a wonderful row of windows with ocean view and a balcony. What came the most pleasantly surprising is the renovated bathroom. It had the European marble look with a shower under the night sky.

Some of the communal facilities like the toilets were a little unclean and not fully equipped. Care should be taken here to take control of the uncomfortably vast amount of (very large!) mosquitos as there were so so many of them.

A beautiful historic building, well maintained, and a prime location. Welcoming, and attentive staff. Breakfast was very nice and had many options. We ate dinner at the restaurant too, which was nice. If you need a room accessible by lift, make sure to note this beforehand and request, as not all rooms have this option.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast with a lot of options and comfortable restaurant area. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is well situated and has shops and restaurants nearby.

Our room's floor was very dusty, needed a really good clean. The elevator was very slow, and our room was a climb up a ladder. I found it charming, but perhaps not accessible for all.

Very conveniently located in the middle of Stone Town's old town. Easy walk to the beach/waterfront. Hotel is extremely charming and beautifully decorated. Our suite was huge, very comfortable, excellent bathroom and balcony. Wifi was strong (!). Breakfast was good, lots of options to choose from, including omelette station.

Some type of rooms dont have a bathroom door,but i was informed that they are in the process of installing them.And the side lamp wasnt working.

Breakfast is very very limited and some things in the room needs renovation i.e mosquito nets have some holes and some wooden parts needs replace or paint

Location is awesome.the hotel is and old weathly house and thats the good about it is like staying at a small museum. Room was spacious well lit with a small balcony. The bathroom was also clean as well as the room. Wifi was gorgeous even for Netflix . Also it has an elevator which many hotels don't in stone town

Beautifully restored palace with interesting paraphernalia from the past. Room with balcony was lovely and spacious. Nice dining room with excellent freshly prepared breakfast. Very helpful staff who helped locate us to a better room.

We had a burst geyser and were woken up at midnight with water pouring into the room. We did get a new room to stay in but no real apology from the hotel for the inconvenience caused which would have been nice.

Rustic, throwback, amazingly located right in the heart of STONE TOWN

The bathroom has clearly been redone recently, but in my opinion, not done well. The water pressure was so weak it was difficult to have a shower. The ceiling seemed to be leaking dust into the shower (see picture below). Also there were no hooks or rails on the bathroom to hang towels.
