Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomA little dusty, but the rooms are cleaned every day. We had a room with an outside bathroom, it rained during the night and dirty water ran off over our toiletries, so put them under the overhead cover, we did love showering outside though and would choose this room again.
Atii Gardens is a lovely haven in Nungwi set back from the beach in the village area. The staff were very helpful and friendly and we especially loved the breakfast. We also had use of a sister hotel’s pool and beach club which was an unexpected bonus. We could also fill up our water bottles from the hotel water cooler.

LuxembourgThe free beach in the description is actually not nearby (only 15min walking anyhow), communication/ understanding with the staff is sometimes not smooth (yet they are super polite). A bit noisy sometimes
Good choice and quality for breakfast, not beach front but really close, large room and bathroom with nice terrace, good value for money considering the location and peak season

United KingdomJust had a small incident at the start of our stay where a member of staff failed to tell us that breakfast wasn't included on the first day of our stay despite us talking about it loudly and openly in front of her. We were then charged $65 after we had been eaten and in all honestly it felt quite sneaky on her part. We had a great stay but it did leave a bad taste in our mouth
Great location, helpful staff, amazing breakfast

GermanyThis place was like a secret garden for us. We felt so at home here. Gil, the owner, is super kind, gave us many valuable tips, and even showed us his permaculture farm. The bungalow was beautifully decorated and spacious, and we loved the outside shower. The staff was particularly attentive to our needs and remembered our preferences for each meal and aspect in the bungalow. This made it extra special. Thanks again to Gil and his team for this wonderful stay.

I liked that the hotel balanced the simple yet green and cosy stay, giving you a feeling of escape from the busy life outside the hotel. The hotel did a good job with giving us small comfy services like a fridge, a safe, made the room up every day, free fresh drinking water.. ect

IsraelAtti's isn't just another hotel; it's a peaceful green island in the middle of the village. The place is full of small details that make you feel like somebody thought of you. The room is big and quiet, with hard, comfortable beds and soft pillows. Every day, they supply you with fresh water and keep the room super clean. The staff is friendly and professional. The hotel is located a few minutes from the beach and has a great breakfast.

PolandWould expand the breakfast offering - it is a la carte, but the selection is not very large and portions are fairly small. So it gets boring after a few days, plus you will be hungry if you usually eat a large breakfast.
Fell in love with this hotel! 10 bungalows located in a beautiful, lush garden. You walk around and feel as if you were in a jungle. Our bungalow was very large - there was a huge bed in the middle, and two smaller beds along the walls. Included a refrigerator. Every bungalow has a deck with comfy furniture. We also had a hammock chair. We loved the bathroom - you enter it from the bungalow, but it is essentially a space out in the open, surrounded by a tall wall. You have plants there - we had a huge banana leaf touching us in the shower. The staff is super friendly. The owner is there every day - super nice. As are the three kitties who live there :-) The hotel is within a 5-minute walk from a lovely beach, with full facilities and excellent food. Lots of souvenir shops are also very nearby. LOVED IT!

United StatesStaff seemed a little reticent at times. Not a real issue but we did feel a less welcoming vibe than in other hotels. There was no easily accessible shower or foot wash on the premises for cleaning off the sand after the beach, just a make-shift one that was awkwardly positioned and tucked away in a hidden corner.
Boutique hotel with a lush garden. It was peaceful and secluded. Big airy rooms with comfortable king-sized beds and a nice outdoor patio (great for hanging out and hanging clothes/towels). Breakfast was a la carte so it took a while, but the food was delicious. Cute residents cats kept us company as we ate. Didn't eat dinner there as the restaurant was closed in the low season. Hotel is located in a good spot, a 5 minute-walk to one beach, and an 10-minute walk to another (it's basically the same stretch of beach separated at high tide). There are plenty of places to eat in the vicinity.

We spent 10 unforgettable days here - pampered by exquisite hospitality of Tatiana and Gill. We felt so welcomed here starting from the process of booking rooms to our last day of stay. Lovely garden, closeness to the beach and restaurants, immaculately clean rooms, great breakfasts and attentive personnel - these things made our holiday special. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone traveling to Zanzibar. It has all you need plus a very cozy atmosphere, just like home.
