Location is great, walking distance from all the sights in Stone Town. Room was spacious and very clean. Great warm shower with good water pressure and AC.

We had a great time at Alminar Hotel. The location is great. We also enjoyed breakfast with a great variety to choose from. The room was good and bed was comfy. The staff were friendly and kind.

The view from the windows wasn't particularly great but I guess its expected with the hotel being surrounded by other buildings.

Breakfast was so-so 1st floor room pretty loud and the windows barely closed properly Rooftop is nice, but in the evening there's a singular grim light and not very comfortable seating (there's potential but needs some better lighting and comfortable seating)

However, there are a few things worth mentioning. Although the room was fairly clean, it felt poorly maintained and quite old. Noise was also a big issue — you could clearly hear sounds from the street and from other floors of the hotel, which made it hard to get a good night’s sleep.

It was our last night on the island, and we decided to stay here. Overall, considering the island’s supply and demand, it was a decent choice — especially the bed, which was surprisingly comfortable and not as hard as others we’ve tried during our trip.

We loved everything about our stay.

The breakfast was fabulous and the rooms were very clean. The beds were especially comfortable. The hotel is away from the bustle of the main part of town but is still very close to everything. The staff was also very kind and helpful.

The breakfast options are minimal

The hotel was clean and well maintained. The staffs are hospitable and kind, they even offered a room for me to freshen up after l had checked out. The hotel is easily accessible.

This hotel exceeded all expectations! Excellent location, stunning rooftop with beautiful breakfast views, and warm staff from check-in to buffet. Great value for the room, considering all the amenities. We wish we could've stayed longer!

I didn't like the fact that my family (I reserved the hotel for them) missed breakfast for 2 consecutive days. I understand that it was a matter of miscommunication but It just didn't make sense considering the fact that my family and hotel attendants are all swahili speakers ( they all speak the same language). However, the management resolved the problem, apologized to us and they acted accordingly for the remaining days of my family's stay. This made us happy and we took it very positive as we are hoping to come back again.

The location is good, right in the center of many other attractive places. The breakfast was so good too. The staff were all welcoming and provided quality customer care.

no common spaces, no view, narrow street approach, I wouldn't call it cosy, okay to sleep over, but you will not be spending time inside, overpriced for what you get
