We had a lovely stay at African Bungalows in Nungwi! The staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive, and it was great to see the owner around, always making sure everything was just right. The breakfast was excellent—fresh, delicious, and with something new to enjoy every day. The serene atmosphere made it feel like an oasis in the middle of Nungwi, perfect for relaxing and unwinding. We absolutely loved our time here and would happily come back for another stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a tranquil and memorable Nungwi getaway!

It was spotlessly clean and quiet, and the owner was a great guy — very hospitable, with all the staff being friendly as well. I truly felt at home. The location is perfect — close to the beach, various restaurants, and shops, yet without any noise disturbance. In the evening, after spending the whole day out, it’s wonderful to relax by the pool in the complex and enjoy the peace and comfort the bungalow offers. If I ever return to Zanzibar in the future, I will definitely come back. Thank you for your hospitality.

This place is amazing! This is an oasis in the green, with a fantastic pool. Staff is amazing, especially Angelina, they can arrange everything for you! Food is amazing, fish is top quality. The food is not as spicy as you can think, perfect for international meals. Everything is super clean and fresh, and you don’t have to worry about water, ice or fruit because everything is perfectly safe for consumption. Their fruit salad is the best! We had 2 excursions with them, they were definitely a 10/10, price very competitive, strongly recommended I will definitely recommend this hotel for couples and families.

Everything was wonderful, honestly. I spent three nights there as a solo trip for myself and couldn't have imagined a better place to stay. The environment is beautiful and serene, with a nice pool and lovely spacious rooms, but the most amazing aspect of African Bungalows was the staff. Ahmet, the owner, was invaluable whenever I needed anything and even arranged for me to have a birthday party close by, with cake and a lovely BBQ dinner. Eva was really helpful as well, going out of her way to ensure that I was comfortable, that the facilities were clean and that the food was great each day. She has such a warm and welcoming personality. The Bartender, as well was great, ensuring that the drinks kept flowing.

Just be aware that there are tons of mosquitos. But especially in the evening this is for whole Nungwi (probably even whole Zanzibar) the case. Even at the beach.

The Hotel is a very beautiful location with lots of details. The rooms have AC, are comfortable and big. We were even allowed to use beach umberellas and chairs/sunbeds at Dhow Beach Hotel which is just a short walk away. The Hotels have the same owner. But the best is the service! Especially Angelina the manager is just amazing. She looks after everyone and you can go to her with anything at anytime. She organized tours, she bought some medicine for my friend when he was sick and made soecial cooking requests happen. I can recommend this Hotel 100%!

Everything I dreamed of in Zanzibar! Beautiful decor, great location and most importantly the staff were so kind - Evangelina and Jafari especially, who went out of their way to look after me. The food was exceptional and I ate every meal at the resort (make sure you have the chef’s special curry!) An unexpected but wonderful addition to my time here was the ability to go to the other boutique hotel managed by the same owners for beachside sunbathing. Thank you for making it such a special birthday for me! The cake, decorations and mostly the smiles. I truly didn’t want to leave.
