Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe elevator was annoying. You're crammed into a hot elevator full of movie theater patrons every time you come back to the hotel.
The bed was fabulous. I slept like a baby every night.

SingaporeThe aircon in the room is too loud. The ledge to go into the bathroom is too high, ok for fit adults, but not friendly for older folks. The wait for the building lift can take a long time due to patrons for the cinema & restaurants in the same building.
Staff are friendly & helpful. They saw my request & catered to my request for a brighter room to work in. I also like the table in the room, it’s spacious enough for me to work on my laptop. Light snacks & beverages are provided at the reception.

SingaporeRoom was on the small side and there was no place to sit and eat except for a single chair in the room. There was also an unknown insect that appeared in the middle of the night. There is a step down to access the room after entering so need to be careful. It is probably not unique to Sky Gate Hotel but toilet paper needs to be thrown in the trash bin as it cannot be flushed, took some getting used to.
Great location on the 12th floor of the Uniqlo building at Ximen. Just a short walk from Ximen MRT exit 6 which is great especially when you are tired from all the walking. Free snacks, cold drinks and instant noodles (after 9pm). Room had a great view!

NetherlandsNothing major, but worth noting: * Because the building is older, toilet paper can’t be flushed and must be disposed of in a bin. However, the bin is emptied daily by housekeeping, so it’s well managed and never a problem. You get quickly used to this. * The elevator can be a bit slow, as it's shared with a movie theater, restaurant, and clothing shop in the same building. It’s not ideal during busy times, but manageable. Despite these small issues, I’d definitely stay here again. The overall experience was comfortable, convenient, and truly great value.
This hotel really impressed me. The location is incredibly convenient - just a 3-minute walk from Ximen MRT station and right around the corner from several bus stops, making it easy to get anywhere in Taipei within 20 minutes. The staff was very kind, responsive, and attentive, always ready to help and genuinely welcoming. I also appreciated the free snacks and drinks available in the lobby pantry, which was a nice extra touch. The rooms were very clean, with daily housekeeping between 9:30 am and 4:00 pm. The schedule was great because it allowed for a more relaxed morning while still ensuring the room was tidied up during the day. Overall, this hotel offers excellent value for money. Between the location, cleanliness, service, and little perks, it’s a smart choice for anyone visiting Taipei.

PhilippinesIn our room, the wires and extension cord for the Japanese toilet was near the floor. It could be dangerous if it ever got wet from the shower or faucet. The placement for that should be improved.

United StatesI would have loved the bed to be a little bit taller so I had a place to sit at a normal height other than the chair. Also there were not too many places to hang clothes, just two hooks. The bathroom also always had flies in it, even after getting rid of them myself, they returned the next day.
I liked the location as well as the free snacks! It was exactly what I needed as a solo traveler. They were also very accommodating when I needed to arrive a day early and also when I had to stay a few days longer when unfortunate circumstances came up. Super appreciative of their flexibility.
