How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewRoom 303 is a cozy room. This room doesn't allow pets. The staff was helpful and friendly. We loved being able to cook our own food on the BBQ (which we purchased from the vendor that brought it on a truck from the market a bus ride away and also the 7/11. The room has a view of about 180° of coast. The little window opens for a fresh breeze. The beach is across the street. The neighborhood was friendly.
The shower needs work (it is a bit of a water park attraction with the water pressure and temperature fluctuations) which they know about and plan to fix in the near future. Some people might not like the stairs, but there is a good rail and we didn't mind the exercise (we are in our 70's). About 1/2 the room is low, but there is a table, two low chairs and a great view.

Verified reviewIt’s super nice that the beach is right in front of the accomodation and the rooms are quite big, which is comfortable.
It is interesting to call yourself a B&B (bed AND breakfast) if you don’t serve breakfast. The options to get food in the area were also very limited. After arriving my host brought me to the wrong room at first. I had already been in the room for 15 minutes and then I had to go out to the room that was designated for me. The host apologized for the mistake, but still it was a bit inconvenient. I also had a cockroach in my room the last evening, even though I hadn’t left any door or window open.

Verified reviewIt was clean, stylish, and comfortable. Very close to a YouBike stand the beaches right in front of the hotel. . The fourth floor loft is really funky but cool. It’s a unique room and while the table is very low to the ground it’s actually much more functional and provides than 99% of hotel rooms. I loved the cool swivel chairs that were just a few inches off the ground.

Verified reviewWe stayed 16 nights total here. We had the opportunity to try 3 room styles. The attic, garden and this one (3 floor ocean view deck). All three were nice rooms. My least favorite was the garden room. My favorite was the attic. The staff was very nice. The response time to messages was good and friendly. There was a 7-11 about 1 block away. They let us use their bbq. The views were beautiful.
Not their fault, but the garden room had a bit of a wet doggy smell the first night. We told them and the next nights were fine.

Self check-in was not easy to grasp and do. Needed to ask a hotel staff to come for check-in

Verified reviewThe room was large and the bed was very comfortable. There's a bath which is a nice touch and it seemed quite clean. There's a beach opposite which is good for swimming. The bus stop is just outside and around 20 minutes from South Bay, 10 from Kenting. There's a 7-11 2 minutes away and some nice seafood restaurants nearby. The area is very quiet so good for a relaxed getaway.
No breakfast at this 'bed and breakfast' because of the 'epidemic', very strange and disappointing. No coffee or tea. Staff were absent most of the time which felt a bit strange. I got a fairly cheap price though so can't complain too much.

Verified reviewLocation. Large room. Comfortable bed. Large TV.
This B&B does NOT accept credit cards of any kind, despite e-mails from the property to the contrary. Upon arrival I was expected to pay for this room in cash, which was impossible (almost 9,000 TWD!) or use an on-line pay site called "LINE'. After entering my credit information for 2 different credit cards I never got this site to work at all, so I stayed only 1 night and paid in cash the following morning. After arriving back in Canada I noticed 3 different charges on my 2 credit cards totaling almost $60 US dollars. I suspect that I will not be able to remove these fraudulent charges, so I had to cancel both my credit cards today and wait 10 days to get new cards. This "LINE" appears to be some kind of scam, so unless you want to pay in cash I would highly recommend not to sign up for this site. In addition the room was quite dirty and didn't appear to have been cleaned and there are no facilities nearby to serve breakfast. Regarding same in our travels around Taiwan I did not encounter any problems or restrictions regarding Covid-19, so the claim that this Bed and Breakfast doesn't serve breakfast because of Covid-19 is completely bogus; the owners simply don't want to incur the expense of providing their guests with breakfast, but still charge the same amount. There are many other hotels in this area that are better, serve breakfast and accept credit cards. I would not recommend this B & B in any way.
