Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

VietnamThe host is very supportive and kind. I chose a double bed to stay with my friend which is cheaper but has the best view compared to the single beds. We have a window right by our bed, the lighting is gorgeous for taking a selfie 😆 Love.

ArgentinaThe only downside is that there wasn't enough space to put all the big bags\suitcases and they are on the way. There are lockers but not big enough.
Clean, comfortable and well located. The double bed was very comfortable and perfect for two people. There's a kitchen well equipped and the bathroom was clean at all times. Also, location is amazing: walking distance to Ximending and the trains station.

United KingdomThere is a main door to the female section of the hostel but within that the rooms have no doors, only curtains. This means that if someone doesn't close the door that leads to the women's toilets/ showers (which is the case almost all the time) the whole place smells of toilet. When I walked into the room for the first time I think someone had a smelly poo and the place stank! Hostel police controls the aircon remote so not like you can easily adjust/ ventilate without fetching him. It was really warm and stuffy (and smelly) when I first walked in. It did get better throughout the 3 days I stayed there but first impressions hey! Also there is literally no space in the 'room' for 2 people to stand side by side, let alone fit any bags or suitcases, so they had to be kept in the corridor. Getting things out was such a pfaff! Nowhere to hang your towel (or anything) near your bed so that gets left in the railing in the bathroom and you hope that nobody's wiping their hands on it as they walk past lol. You get used to these things though and overall it was alright.
The man at reception was very helpful for anything I needed although it did feel like he was hostel police lol! Great location, very convenient to get anywhere in Taipei or out of town for day trips and beyond. Beds/ pillows were big, comfortable and clean. Same with toilets/ showers.

United StatesThe windows outside the dorm room/ hallway were closed all the time. Felt the air was stuffy. The lower bed nice, but the assigned locker is on upper level. Quite awkward. Small moving area between the beds.
No breakfast (N/A.) Manager nice. The location is excellent. There is elevator to the place. Clean, great common area, shower room , toilet, washing area, etc.

PhilippinesGreat location— just a short walk to Taipei Main Station, Ximending Night Market, and the famous Liu Shandong Beef Noodles. The property was neat and clean, and the owner was approachable and friendly. Other guests were polite and adhered to the house rules. Overall, my 6D5N stay in Taiwan was fantastic. If I travel solo to Taiwan again, I would definitely choose to stay here again.

AustraliaWifi cut out often. The aircon got shut off during the day and without any windows or fans the rooms were hot. Then at night it was set at a high temp and barely cooled the room at all so i found it quite sweaty.
The staff were great, kitcen and bathroom facilities were exactly what you want in a hostel. Lockers were a good size. Amazing location, so easy to get around taipei from it!

JapanThe hairdryers were weak and it would take a lot of time to get your hair dry. The staff was noisy when they guided someone new to their bed during midnight (but only for a minute or so). It was also a bit too warm at some point (the aircon was mostly on but at some point I think they forgot to turn it on).
The location was great and the beds were comfortable, you could not really hear any noises or feel movement from other people during late night or early hours. I selpt very well. There was enough space for luggage.
