How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewI have nothing but praise for the Kenting cozy B&B. I booked a room here for a couple of days while visiting the region and it was exceptional. The rooms are large, clean and well equipped. A good bed, good AC, good bathroom with shower. In the foyer there is water (hot/warm/cold), free tea, coffee, snacks and noodle cups, and you get one free soft drink per guest per day. Location is similarly excellent. Although Kenting is not so big, the B&B is about a two minute walk from the main street, shops and night market yet still tucked away enough so as to be quiet. The nearest bus stop is about 5 mins (to and from Hengchun and Kaohsiung) and about 10 mins from Youbike rental stations and scooter rentals. There is also scooter parking. Overall a fantastic stay, especially for the price.
If you don't love cats or have an allergy, there are two that live on the ground floor. They're very friendly and mostly keep to themselves, though.

Verified reviewThe location was perfect. It sits behind the night market main street. It was silent. We didn't hear any sounds from the night market. The woman at the front desk was very kind and accommodating. There were drinks and snacks available to all guests in the lobby.
A hand towel and a floor towel in the bathroom would be helpful.

Verified reviewLocation to night market and beach
First impression was room smelled of insecticide spray, I had paid for an upgraded room with a balcony only to look at a metal wall 2’ away with no view. Talked to management about the upgrade with no luck. Next was the bathroom which had mold growing around the sink area and shower window area. Internet does not work unless you are in the lobby. The bed is like sleeping on the floor and is as hard as a floor. Airco worked well. If you have allergies to cat don’t stay ,at least 2 cat running the place and want into your room.

Verified reviewFelt strange here. Thought it would have more of a personal feel. Need to get hot water from downstairs for coffee. NO ELEVATOR so up and down ( not fun for seniors). Fortunately check in staff changed us to lower floor . Cats also. Expensive for what it is though room clean, bed very hard. Snack biscuits down stairs. Hotel front outlook dismal. One staff member tried to be helpful (without English) to get us to Wanlitong to snorkel. Getting there easy getting back NOT. Staff at SOHO resort helped us out. Not worth going there anyway...not much to see. Couldn’t get to a swim-able beach in front of hotel due to barriers and flags. Night market was uninviting and you had to question how long food had been re-presented over days and its safety.

Verified review{+} very, very friendly and helpful staff {+} central location {+} clean, big and stylish rooms {+} free snacks, beverages and coffee in the lobby {+} water dispenser {+} sweet pet cats
Really NO NEGATIVE points, but nice to know: {#} No English speaking host but it’s NOT a problem :-) {#} wall view windows in our room, so it’s more „dark“ without direct sunlight. We knew it before. {#} no bidet in the bathroom

Verified reviewThe location was fantastic, near the beach and enterance to national park as well as the lively night street markets and bus stop! Really quiet despite being such a central location. Cats were our personal highlight! Very kind host and great to have a water station and snacks! Please note you cannot swim at the beach in walking distance but very easy to order a taxi or take the bus to a different one nearby!

Verified reviewBest location close to the beach and to the Kenting center where during the night there's a big night market. The room and the bathroom were big and modern and all the facilities were provided.
The room was a bit dark with only one window facing the wall of another house.
