William is a great host, as he was helpful and available all the time to give information about activities in Hualien. The hostel is clean, charming and cozy. I highly recommend this place.

Very small room and bathroom The bathroom was very uncomfortable, you have to wait a lot for hot water and also then they were not hot enough. Really no space for shower and toilet usage. Not soundproof- loud from the street at night. The house was old and I felt uncomfortable at night at the area. They charge 4% for credit card

I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel. The host was very helpful and nice. Everything was clean and comfortable and had nicely decorated artwork throughout the building. I also liked the location. I’d definitely stay here again!

Comfy social place downstairs. William friendly and helpful owner. Good location in a quiet neighbourhood in the city centre. Walking distance to train station. Clean.

The location is convenient and quiet. What really sets this place apart is the host- I felt like I had so much help and I was never alone when trying to figure out what to do during my stay there. Great guy!

The bike they offer is free which is amazing but really hard to ride due to rusting and the gear is broken. It's awesome that it's offered but just be aware. Also the common room didnt seem like there was air conditioning.

William is awesome. He’s so helpful. He really made my trip much more pleasant. Location was excellent for visiting parks. So close to the train and bus stations.

It’s a bit far from downtown Hualien if that’s your thing. Mostly quiet at night, but you can hear motorcycles on the street occasionally.

Location is perfect - close to the train station and there is a nice riverfront path we took to walk downtown. William is an excellent host and went out of his way when we left an item in our room - thank you! The room and common space were really cozy and well decorated, with lots of games and books to keep us occupied. Great experience.

William was very knowledgeable spoke excellent English and helped me with plans to drive across Taiwan. Very nice common area.

I loved my stay at the 123 Cheers Hostel!! The staff was incredibly nice and helpful in arranging trips. The common area was cozy and is made for meeting people, the bed is comfortable and the hostel overall is clean. Free coffee! Location close to the station and free bikes to get into the city center. Would definitely come again!!

Great location if you are looking to visit taroko, just next to the train & bus station. The common room is very cozy and you can expect a warm welcome and accommodating manager for the duration of your stay ! Bear in mind that if you are looking to enjoy the city center and night market you will need a bike/scooter or else be prepared for a 40min walk. So it depends on what you want to experience in Hualien ! In my case the manager offered me to borrow the free bikes to get to the center quickly for a few days in a row so it was very convenient! I highly recommend this place :)

The room can feel a bit crowded when full, especially since there is only one bathroom including toilet and shower for 8 people within the room but if you are not in a rush you can just queue patiently with a good book and enjoy the common space until you go to bed. The manager did also mention there was a toilet and shower on the ground floor free for everyone's use!

Host William was fantastic help! Was awesome to have someone proficient in English and so willing to help me with my travel questions!
