Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Everything was great!
Super comfortable and clean with everything you need. Very spacious rooms, comfortable bed, great shower. Very friendly and helpful staff who went above and beyond to resolve a booking problem I had via the booking.com website. Would highly recommend anyone travelling to Taitung to stay here!

Very good hotel with excellent additional benefits such as free coffee machine (brilliant for me), free ice cream, free bicycles, washing machine and even a games room. The room was a very good size, we slept well and there's a balcony too (although not much view). There's vouchers for breakfast which we used at 6 inch plate and found the menu huge and the food good. You have to pay a bit extra as the voucher didn't cover what we wanted but it was a very small amount. The breakfast places are a reasonable distance away but the bikes (while old) got us there no problem and there's plenty of YouBike stands if you want to ride further. The weekend staff member went above and beyond as on the departure day there had been a bike race and we couldn't get a cab to the station. So unexpectedly.. She drove us... Brilliant! Highly recommend

Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel was well equipped and clean. Bikes were free to use and coffee/tea/ice cream was always free!

just one chair in the room,, were not told about additional amenities (e.g. washing machine) only in reviews, quite far out, communication hindered by language barrier (chinese), breakfast were coupons for a café in the city centre...

If Shower room and Toilet can be seperated that will make it perfect!

Breakfast location too far - it is in town and need to find parking to use it. However I did go to both breakfast places on last day and they are both very good
location is good, parking is good, very clean, good view of the mountains from back rooms.

The pillows are too thick for me. not sure if others have the problem as well.
it was quiet and comfortable during the stay! There’s a PX Mart near the stay, quite convenient.

The check in communication was absolutely unacceptable. I was contacted by the property through a booking.com message, to which I replied that I didn’t have a Taiwan phone number and would be arriving after the designated check in window, in which case the check in description on booking said I would be given a door code. I said I would be arriving at 8:45, and could I please have the door code. I never heard back on what the door code was or if someone was going to meet me. I get to the property at the time I said and there’s a phone number on the window to call to get checked in (which is different than on the booking.com contact, by the way). I didn’t have a way to call. Tried to add that number on Line but it wasn’t found. Finally had the idea to call a relative on Line that did gave a Taiwan phone number and he called the property. If not for that though, I would have had to sleep on the street. When the host arrived 15 min after the call, he said it was a different staff person earlier who messaged me on booking.com. He said that I didn’t list a Taiwan phone number so they couldn’t contact me to arrange check in. I asked him why they couldn’t arrange it with me through booking.com message which they had already successfully used to communicate with me. Or at the least use it to let me know the plan. There was no plan. I was left hanging. He was neutral/pleasant enough, but didn’t apologize or acknowledge that they need to change anything about the after-hours check in process. I just find it baffling that they would accept a booking for a certain night, get communication on the no-number situation and expected arrival time, and then not arrange to meet or even try to reach out to the guest to give them instructions. So if you don’t have a Taiwan phone number and you’re going to arrive after 7:30, beware.
The amenities were great- especially the bicycles.
