How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Breakfast could have been included for one day a little more with refreshments snacks sweeties in the room and a ac that is cooling properly.

The air condition in the loft was not functional all weekend and we had to use two fans which were provided to us,other than that it was great
Everything except the air condition in the loft never worked.the staff were very helpful and the owner very friendly.

There was an extra charge between online price and what i paid at the hotel . Be carefull at night as anyone can walk into property. Didnt see security
The place was clean, didnt expect stove, a nice spot for a family vaca. Supermarket just opposite and close to Crown Point and Scarborough

The check in/check out staff, different persons each time, seemed tired and were not engaging, however they were polite
Not applicable. My booking did not include breakfast. I stayed at this facility to attend an evening event that was held onsite. The ambiance was good nad the dining area was adequate and suitable for our needs. The gazebo next to the pool added an extra enjoyable touch

Only the bedroom had air conditioning . The apartment itself was hot and there was no fan. No kettle for hot refreshments.. Not even a complimentary bottle of water on arrival. The staff are beautiful people. However I will never go back there because of the owner. She needs to take courses in customer relations or learn about it from her staff. Or maybe she should just retire and leave the running of the facility to persons more equipped.
Location was convenient.

I didn't like having to show the check in staff my reservation. Staff also did not seem to be aware that I had a reservation. Staff were entering the room while I was in the room and then indicated to me that they thought I checked out already. This occurred on two occasions about 10 minutes apart.
The room was spacious and comfortable. The location of the hotel is near to many beaches.

A standing fan could be an additional benefit instead of running the Air conditioning for long period. Also a little more detailed cleaning of the apartment.
Location was pretty good between Crown point and Scarborough.

I was told that they were going to clean on the 22nd and no one cleaned the room, I had to buy my own toilet paper too.
The pool was like heaven, the room was really nice and cosy, the grocery across the road was really good,

It's run down, over price and staff is not knowledgeable about the hotel and the surroundings, just pathetic. I will never returned there. I booked a Executive room and if that is executive I don't want to see the regular rooms. I contacted the Manager a woman via phone told her what I'm experiencing and she just couldn't be bothered.
Only good thing about Violas Place is ummm nothing!

you can't cook inside with the apartment door closed, i would recommend a range for the heat from the stove and the stove is a waste of time, it needs to be updated and also microwave needs to be thrown out and updated, we are in 2022 not 1980s no ice trays in the freezer! the bed mattress is not firm, the bed constantly moves away from the wall when you sit or lay on it, there is no headboard.
