Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IranThe area was traditional and relatively conservative, and especially at nights was not recommended to walk. This is confirmed by some locals as well. Another point is that was my first time that I was charged for the water in the room! Also there were no other items in the fridge and the restaurant was not open before 7:30. In addition to that, there was no tissue in the room.
The property is an old building in the old city back to Ottoman Empire era. The rooms with beautiful blue tiles and old wooden doors and windows is a true travel in time! For me, staying in the Palais Bayram overall was a good experience.

South AfricaThe hotel is lovely, but there was a wedding on the first night we were there. The music was blaring late into the night which made it difficult to sleep, bearing in mind we hardly slept at all as we were flying the night before. Had I been advised well in advance, I would have found an alternative. Nonetheless Saeeda managed the whole situation perfectly and was kind and understanding, so a negative was turned into a positive after all.
The hotel is a former Palace in the middle of the Tunis Medina. We were upgraded to a beautiful spacious suite upon arrival. Breakfast was good. We received warm, friendly and welcoming service from Saeeda. Saeeda offered us a room to freshen up as we arrived quite early in the day, and she made us feel right at home which was appreciated. Thank you Saeeda for your kindness.

Historical building with the ambiance of the 19th century when it was built for the last governor of the Ottoman Empire. Great wall fayences in the room, room was very big with comfortable bed. I loved the marble bathroom! Nice breakfast with open buffet.

CanadaUnfortunately, this happens from time to time as a woman traveling alone. On my first night, I ate at the hotel restaurant. The food was expensive and unremarkable, but the waiter was very friendly. He offered to show me and other guests the hammam on site. Since he’d offered to others, I felt comfortable enough to agree (first mistake). After my meal, he led me there-everything was dark and closed up, so it was just the two of us. He showed me around, then led me to the massage room. They had a “special” massage oil. Suddenly, he reached out and grabbed my arm, giving me a massage. It was weird-he was the waiter, not a masseuse-and I was nervous being alone in a dark room with him. I indicated I was ready to leave. Then he offered me some of the “special oil.” Foolishly, I agreed (second mistake), thinking he’d just give me a small container. As I started to head to my room, he stopped me, saying I looked cold (it was February) and he’d bring up heaters. My room was cold, so I agreed (third mistake). He then asked, “You’re in room 10, right?”-a red flag, since he knew my room number without checking. He brought the heaters and set them up. As he left, he reminded me about the oil and said he’d be right back. I didn’t want it, but my polite Canadian instincts kicked in, so I waited. When he returned, I tried to take the oil at the door, but he insisted on coming in. I told myself it wasn’t that weird (mistake four). He told me to sit down, and before I knew it, I was alone in my room with a strange waiter massaging me. I was terrified. Then he put his hands under my shirt. Finally, I found the courage to tell him to stop. Thankfully, he did, but told me, “Don’t tell anyone.” I then spent six more nights sleeping in fear that he could enter my room at any time. If you decide to stay here, beware. Don’t default to politeness if you feel uncomfortable-something I wish I’d done.
The property is absolutely stunning and I don't know why others are complaining about the breakfast. Lots of variety every day and especially for the price I thought it was great. The wifi was decent and allowed me to Zoom calls while I was working.

Great location (once you find it!) in a quiet part of the medina. The hotel is a wonderful piece of living history, with beautiful rooms with wooden ceilings, wall ceramics, and stone carving. My room was an historic suite, very spacious. Staff at reception and in the restaurant could not have been more helpful. I especially enjoyed having the whole hammam to myself for an hour!!
