How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe location was perfect for what we needed the breakfast was decent. He was able to book tours for us and give recommendations
They had a card reader but wouldn't let us use it, so we had to take cash out. The hot water wasn't turned on. We had to ask for it to be turned on, and then the water trickled. There are also no plugs except in the bathroom

Verified reviewGood location, the staff in reception is very friendly and helpful.
Part of the hotel has just been renovated, and some areas are still under construction. The smell of decoration in the room is so pungent that it's impossible to stay indoors for even a short while. Besides, the room is extremely cold, with only a small oil - filled radiator. Poor breakfast

Verified reviewGood location with free parking. Close to the Medina and centre
Tired, old hotel with uncared for facilities. First room the curtain rail fell apart and the bedside units were practically falling on the floor. Second room the aircon could not be controlled (on/off only), the shower is tiny and a shower curtain that wasn't big enough to fit around the tray. Long line of ants into the shower tray. Water barely luke warm, main staircase up overgrown bush means you have to fight through the branches with bags to get past. Breakfast was just bread, butter and jam with one boiled egg and a coffee pot that looked disgusting. Oh and the mattress was really uncomfortable.
The guest made many false comments, of which two are glaringly wrong: 1. Breakfast comprises, in addition to what she mentioned, juice, cheese, buiscuit, yougurt, traditionally baked bread, butter, jam and tea. 2.She left used tea bags on the table, which brought in the ants, and this after the room had been cleaned.

Verified reviewIt's fine and calm in the night. The room has the required amunities. The location is very central and close to the palms oasis.
Free parking : just parking in the street under you pwn risk. For me, no breakfast is definetly better. Jam, butter, bread and dough are the things that I must avoid. There was eggs at least. Unfortunately no fruits or vegetables which I always consider for my breakfast.

Verified reviewBreakfast is good and tasty. The restaurant room is decorated much much better than the bedroom…Location is ok. Only a few minutes walk to the city centre. And nighttime is quiet. Receptionist is always helpful.
Facilities are old. We were firstly arranged the upper floor room. But we had large suitcases and no elevator. (Luckily it’s not full booking and the receptionist was so kind to change the ground floor room to us for free)

Verified reviewThe staff was very nice and helpful The location was very good The hotel is very clean The breakfast is very good
The only one problem with the hotel is that they advertise it they accept credit cards. But when attempting to use our Visa card we were given many excuses as to why we couldn't. The first was at the internet was down. Second was that they ran out of the role of paper. We knew that the staff was not pushing this but they kept connecting on the phone with the owner. She finally stated that if we wanted to use our Visa card we would be charged and extra 5%. We noted that other people complained about this in their reports as well. Aside from this everything was very good
We appreciate our guest's comments and would like to make the following clarification: the lack of printing paper was accidental and our staff did their best to remedy the situation. Concerning the 5 per cent deduction, this is the total of the bank's commission and VAT. We do apologise to our esteemed guest for any inconvenience caused.

Verified reviewLocation was good, outside looks nice.
We received wet towels, air conditioning/heater was not working but we got replacement. Carpets were very filthy, blankets dirty as well. Breakfast buffet was not sufficient, there were no fruits, dishes were wet and put on the table. Seems like on national holiday there is no bread.

Verified reviewIt was in a quiet location very close to the medina.
The AC only blew cold air and the room was freezing. In addition, we were woken up in the night by the sound of running water and the noise from the AC running in another room. It was incredibly loud and lasted for hours. We checked out a day early because we slept so badly even though we paid for two nights.

Verified reviewNice peaceful location, hotel itself was very enchanting the architecture was beautiful, staff were amazing. Very close to town centre.
For a basic hotel you can't fault this place, had everything you needed for a few days trip, maybe a safety deposit box could of helped.i couldn't pay for my stay as I had to leave early and no staff were available but they met me in tunis for the payment.

Verified reviewThe location was central and the property was pretty clean.
At check in, I had to play the typical "credit-card-machine -doesn't- work" game. Well, I know that game and how it's won. After arguing for 20 min with staff who doesn't speak English, the manager came. She took the machine out of the box, plugged it in and voila! Magically it worked the first time! If you want to post your hotel on certain websites, you have to honor the policies. It said I could pay with card, that's why I booked it! The man at the front desk was demanding I pay in cash and was upset when I told him I couldn't...he was so rude it ruined my stay. I was woken up in the morning at 7am by talking...the walls are paper thin. You hear literally every single word, every single cough (from all the smokers in Tunisia)! The breakfast was really underwhelming...butter, jam, toast, tea and dates. Do yourself a favor, unless you're a local, skip this place!
