Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

TunisiaI wasn’t told in advance that there is no card machine available to pay at the hotel. only cash was the available option for the payment. Cost was expensive comparing with the facilities provided
I stayed one night at the hotel, it was comfortable . but cost was very expensive . I believe that was due to high season but still expensive for provided facilities

The property was absolutely stunning! A true hidden gem in the heart of Bizerte. The traditional architecture, peaceful ambiance, and warm hospitality created an unforgettable experience. The decor was authentic and charming, and everything was impeccably clean. The hosts went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.

NorwayOn the second night, I could hear people in the house having an animated discussion in the late evening, which disrupted my sleep.
It was all very quaint, the house and the old town with its beautiful alleys where the house is located. Very clean facilities. The host family is very kind.

TurkeyI loved the home and family feeling of this Dar! Radia and her family were absolutely lovely, very helpful and always there when you needed them. It was in a great location, close to all the sites and right inside the kasbah/Medina. Was a lovely and simple breakfast in the mornings. Her family was there and it really made you feel right at home. I had such a good rest and relaxation in the room, the bed was super comfortable and I highly suggest this place!

I love the room which was quiet and clean. It is a small room, but what more do you need when travelling? The owners were very kinds and gentle. I was sick during my stay and the owner/lady made me a soup since I was not able to eat other food. The husband was very kind and help me to get to taxi/lounge station to get back to Tunis. He also took me to exchange place to change some money. Overall, this place is one of the nicest places I have stayed at while vising Tunisia. The building is a traditional dar that brings you back to the time of Andalusians and the architecture of that time.

RomaniaNothing in particular.
Situated in an old typical building, Dar el Kasba gives one an idea about life of real people in the medina, with all its smells and sounds - which I found quite pleasant. While it is not very easy to spot the house at the arrival, once you get used to the narrow alleys in the Old City all becomes simple and even interesting. My room and bathroom were extremely clean, and all facilities functioned perfectly. The breakfast was not very immaginative, but sufficient and tasty. The hosts were extremely nice and helpful.

It was such a lovely experience living with a family. REGNA our host was always available to answer all my many questions . My room was comfortable and quiet and dark at night. Important requirements when travelling and rarely available. The Dar is situated in a delightful part of the medina and at the end of several days you feel a part of this friendly community. Especially going to the Hamman . The Dar is extremely well situated being only minutes from all the major sights . The Old Port The beach Town centre. Restaurants cafe etc

PolandWe didn't have hot water - maybe it was just our bad luck - we stayed just one night so it was not a big problem.
It's a unique place - family home in the center of the Medina. It's really colourful and makes impression. The host is very nice and helpful - generally we recommend this place to everybody.

ItalyWe had a great stay. The lodging is located in the Kasbah (the walls of the city) and is calm and quiet. It is only a short walk from there to the marina. The bed was comfortable and we had a great breakfast every morning with coffee, croissants, eggs, and fruit. The family who lives there is very kind, friendly, welcoming, and respectful. I would stay there again.

United KingdomThe wi-fi came and went a little. But this is a general problem in Tunis and not the fault of the owners. And anyway no bad thing to be with wi-fi for some periods of the day!
It was a privilege to be staying in a beautiful traditional family home in the heart of the old medina and just minutes walk from the harbour and cafes. The family (mother and father, three children, and two grandparents who make a delicious breakfast) were all friendly and welcoming, but not intruding on the privacy of our three rooms on the first floor. All spoke French and the mother and older children some English. My grandchildren (9 and 7) ended up playing the card game Uno with the two younger boys on the roof garden, communicating in sign language and learning some Arabic. What an enriching experience!

SpainWifi does not work, which costed my partner missing a job interview he had scheduled for the first morning. Breakfast was disappointing: no fresh tea, no fruits or dates, no cooked food, and bottled fruit full of added sugar. Overall, we felt a little uncomfortable because it felt like we were intruding in someone else's home. The owner asked us to leave as soon as possible because other guests were coming, it felt rude. Payment option only in local cash was difficult.
Good that you are supporting a family business but they should name it a room rental in an Airbnb.
