How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewI stayed one night at the hotel, it was comfortable . but cost was very expensive . I believe that was due to high season but still expensive for provided facilities
I wasn’t told in advance that there is no card machine available to pay at the hotel. only cash was the available option for the payment. Cost was expensive comparing with the facilities provided

Verified reviewThe property was absolutely stunning! A true hidden gem in the heart of Bizerte. The traditional architecture, peaceful ambiance, and warm hospitality created an unforgettable experience. The decor was authentic and charming, and everything was impeccably clean. The hosts went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.
Honestly, there’s nothing I didn’t like. Everything exceeded my expectations.
Thank you very much Ahmed ❤️❤️❤️

Verified reviewGood that you are supporting a family business but they should name it a room rental in an Airbnb.
Wifi does not work, which costed my partner missing a job interview he had scheduled for the first morning. Breakfast was disappointing: no fresh tea, no fruits or dates, no cooked food, and bottled fruit full of added sugar. Overall, we felt a little uncomfortable because it felt like we were intruding in someone else's home. The owner asked us to leave as soon as possible because other guests were coming, it felt rude. Payment option only in local cash was difficult.
What you say is not true and requires clarification: For the internet connection, upon your arrival we agreed that our speed is not very high for an interview and you made contact with the nearby café to do it (this is what you said the day before) and we also agreed to postpone your breakfast until the end of the interview in the tea room. The risk of staying home and missing your interview was your own decision. We never ask a customer to leave the establishment before 11 a.m. your exit at 9 a.m. was because of your commitments, which is why you asked for breakfast at 8 a.m. Where is the crime in working in our family business? each person in the family was at your disposal, at your service and we answered all your questions and requests with respect and kindness as required by the notion of a traditional guest house. Our family has a solid work team and we pay attention to all the details to satisfy our dear customers. Sincerely.

Verified reviewLocation is ok Nice family
Not there fault, maybe question of culture, but for me, the bed and pillows were way too hard, so if you don’t like hard pillow and hard bed…. This place is not for you… Really could not sleep all night…

Verified reviewIt was all very quaint, the house and the old town with its beautiful alleys where the house is located. Very clean facilities. The host family is very kind.
On the second night, I could hear people in the house having an animated discussion in the late evening, which disrupted my sleep.

Verified reviewI loved the home and family feeling of this Dar! Radia and her family were absolutely lovely, very helpful and always there when you needed them. It was in a great location, close to all the sites and right inside the kasbah/Medina. Was a lovely and simple breakfast in the mornings. Her family was there and it really made you feel right at home. I had such a good rest and relaxation in the room, the bed was super comfortable and I highly suggest this place!
thank you very much Rachel ❤️

Verified reviewSituated in an old typical building, Dar el Kasba gives one an idea about life of real people in the medina, with all its smells and sounds - which I found quite pleasant. While it is not very easy to spot the house at the arrival, once you get used to the narrow alleys in the Old City all becomes simple and even interesting. My room and bathroom were extremely clean, and all facilities functioned perfectly. The breakfast was not very immaginative, but sufficient and tasty. The hosts were extremely nice and helpful.
Nothing in particular.

Verified reviewIt was such a lovely experience living with a family. REGNA our host was always available to answer all my many questions . My room was comfortable and quiet and dark at night. Important requirements when travelling and rarely available. The Dar is situated in a delightful part of the medina and at the end of several days you feel a part of this friendly community. Especially going to the Hamman . The Dar is extremely well situated being only minutes from all the major sights . The Old Port The beach Town centre. Restaurants cafe etc
Nothing

Verified reviewThe location is close to downtown. The staff is very good. The room was very clean.
The breakfast was little and the same every day. The photos of food posted by the owner are deceptive. The wifi barely works. The rooms are so close to other houses that there is always some or other noise. We also saw some people fighting from the other house on the road. The room is way too small, the bathroom doesn't have any window for air to pass. And you need to ring the doorbell every time you enter so that someone will come and open the door. also walking with luggage is not great as the roads are stony.

Verified reviewThe host was very friendly and helped us several times, e.g. to find the location in the old medina or the secured parking.
Breakfast was sufficient but relatively basic, not one local dish. And almost everything was packed, even the croissant had been packed and had not been fresh. Hot water for tee was in a thermos jug from last evening and also not hot anymore. And it needs some discussion to get breakfast the first day at 8:00 am as this would be too early ...
