The reception staff were lovely and helpful, recommending places to visit in Chiang Mai and booking tours for us. I also liked the hotel's location, which includes a swimming pool, a rooftop terrace with mountain views, and the hotel is close to a 7-11, Thanin Market, and Maya Shopping Mall.

The hotel is outdated. The electrical outlet is in an inconvenient place at all. They only give one towel per person. Despite everything, good value for money

There is a small swimming pool and a new larger pool was under consutraction. If this new pool will be completed, this hotel is more attractive.

Breakfast is not buffet. But a lot of choices. We could choose both Western and Asian meals. And fruites are fresh and free to eat. We stayed 7 nights and breakfast was one of the enjyoyments during the stay. Room was spacious like a condo. The view from the rooftop was excellent. Staffs were super friendly. Location is a bit far from the major destinations such as Nimman, but there is a lot of good local restraurants and cafes. If you wish to stay long and live lika a Thai people, this hotel will be one of the ideal places.

All is so good, the staff is so kind and helpful, the place is really clean. The pool is very nice to chill out and it is beautiful that is has big trees and plants around.

Without a motorbike you can’t really get too far, which makes it more difficult to get to old town. However you could get a grab anywhere. I hoped the sofa was a sofa bed, to give us more room. But it was not, however the space was excellent and suitable for our family.

The staff were really helpful and friendly. The breakfast selection was good and the room was very spacious. The kids also loved the swimming pool and my husband enjoyed the gym. The area felt very welcoming and community based, we felt super comfortable walking on the road, even without a pavement. There were also a good few places to eat nearby. Everyday there was room service too, keeping our room nice and clean. Overall it was an excellent stay.

The apartment felt like it could have used a bit of TLC, there were water marks / cracks in the walls and everything felt a little tired but overall a positive experience

We had a wonderful stay! The room was spacious and thoughtfully designed with a nice layout that segmented each area perfectly. It featured a fully equipped kitchen, two comfortable bedrooms each with their own ensuite bathroom, a cozy living room, and a large balcony that gave us plenty of space to relax. The decor was tasteful and made the place feel very welcoming. The location was also easy to find and very convenient. Overall, a great experience — highly recommended!

Nothing, it was wonderful!

I stayed at The Opium for a month and absolutely loved it. My room was very spacious and clean with a nice view of some buildings and the mountains. The pool is beautiful, perfect to cool off in the hot city. I loved the staff, they were so sweet and accommodating of any needs or requests I had. The breakfast is really nice, with a variety of western and eastern dishes. I highly recommend The Opium!

The ongoing noise with the renovations but its understandable and there was a notice anyway.breakfast is only by orders and limited choices.

The staff are all helpful and nice, they helped me with my requests especially with transport for we are 12 person with an elderly.the pool,gym and rooftop are a plus.they can arrange your tours,room massage and transport even food deliveries. Its location is also good near the restaurants, beauty and massage shops and convenience stores even pharmacy and milk tea shop🫢👍. I will stay again if i come back to Chiang Mai. Grand suite room has a mini kitchen so we cook simple breakfast it comes handy for food warming.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The staff were so polite, friendly, helpful and made you feel so welcome. The room was absolutely amazing, the size was beyond what we expected, was cleaned every day with fresh towels and water in the room. Absolutely amazing and would recommend to anyone!!

The mattress was not very comfortable. I would have appreciated availability of a second cup of hot beverage with the morning breakfast, as well as a fresh orange juice

Maybe just the location.

The staff was very nice and the breakfast had some good options. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. The pool was very good. The hotel is located a bit far away from the city center but still is in a nice location full of restaurants and shops around.
