How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewWe spent 2 nights 23-25th August in this nice and cozy hotel. 15 minutes by long tail boat from Tonsai. Very authentic and beautiful place. Amazing sea view from the personal room terrasse. Jungle path to the view point on the mountain top - feel yourself Indiana Jones. Kids loved the beach with crabs and white sand. Very good breakfast with fruits. Best staff over Phi Phi.

Verified reviewLocation was super nice, views were amazing. In a remote area on the island, far from all the noises and crowds.
They turned off electricity at 2 or 3am until 6am, so there was no light or AC in the room. It was unbelievably hot and when I asked the staff the next morning they said they have to turn it off every day, but they never mentioned it before. That was completely disappointing, so I had to checkout 1 day earlier as I couldn’t keep up with the heat at night. And of course they didn’t accept to refund me for that 1 extra night.

Verified reviewIf anyone is searching to stay in phi phi and reading this review just book it right now. I had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Cove on Phi Phi Island. The property is a little secluded, away from the main pier, which makes it even more special. The views are absolutely breathtaking, some of the best I’ve seen in Thailand. The room was upgraded and had a gorgeous view, making my stay even more memorable. The staff—especially Ain, Lala, chocho, and Piu—were incredibly welcoming and caring. They even played with my one-year-old child, which added such a personal touch. The property arranged some great activities like tours to Maya Bay and nearby islands, which were stunning. They also provided snorkeling gear and kayaks, all of which I made good use of to explore the beautiful coral reefs. The whole experience was unforgettable, and I’m definitely planning to come back to Phi Phi Island and stay at The Cove again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a serene and beautiful getaway.

Verified reviewThe location and surrounding scenery are amazing. Rooms are large and comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful although they don’t have a lot of English.
No pool and sometimes the tidal nature of the beach makes it hard to swim. Breakfast is a little basic for a Thai resort. The only walk out is a very steep track which takes you to the lookout, but the track is not maintained making it very hard to walk towards the top and it’s easy to lose the way. I’m afraid I can’t recommend it.

Verified reviewPlace is beautiful lovely room right on beach, only thing is and I know they have to do it was a building work out on balcony listing to grinding hammering, just wish hotel had said there work there next door and could have offered another room further away as place was empty, but breakfast staff good, just shame listening to grinding all day

The staff in the reception and restaurant weren’t very helpful or proactive so the service really lacked. Boat staff, lovely and helpful though, can’t fault them at all. The path up to the viewpoint is more a bush bash climb that a walk or hike. Lots of fallen trees so you don’t quite know where you are going. Would be helpful for it to be cleared and have some signs along the way. We got quite distressed and I wouldn’t overly recommend doing it alone. We love to walk so thought we would walk into the centre a bit but because of the path we had to get the boats which is very very costly. The food was nice but very overpriced, to be expected in a capped market. The rooms were beyond hot. The aircon didn’t work and when we asked for help to fix it they just bashed the buttons and called it a day. Neither of us slept during our stay. There was work being done during the whole of our stay so it was noisy so not really a peaceful stay at all. Looking back now 6/10 is maybe too generous of a rating.

first of all some of the staff (reception staff) was dismissing us every time we tried to speak to them. secondly the food was not up to standards of the price we payed and took a while to arrive as well as the breakfast was not great especially how much we payed for this stay. another major issue was that we had to pay to do anything kayaking was expensive and there was no one to help us when we got back also to go the main part was 200 baht each person each way so cost us nearly £20 just for the transport this meant we was forced to stay in as we are on a budget. This made the night very boring as they did not provide any entertainment. for the price of this place you expect free transport to and from the pier. another note is the littering it felt like the water was dirty there was many bottles and cans in the water and beach. as for the room even with air con it was really hot and hard to sleep especially as the bed was really small. i can’t believe i spent £75 a night on this it was really not worth it. especially as we were celebrating a birthday. there was 0 communication when the boat was going to come and had to wait in the rain for an extra half hour when we payed a lot of money to get there and back. there was also a tiny over priced shop there which wasn’t very useful as it had 0 change! i wouldn’t stay here again and i expected more or would of thought these issues would have been highlighted in the description as we would not of stayed here.

If you’re scared of bugs then beware our room was crawling with lizards and cockroaches but you do have a bed tent to protect when sleeping.

1 the shower head was dirty 2 the dinner menu was smelly and sticky. Both of the ones they gave us. 3 there where no massages available 4 the night before we stayed at the relax beach resort 5 minutes away but we had to go all the way back to the pier to wait there for the pickup. 5 the vibe was not warm and welcome.
