How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe room and the view was absolutely stunning. The owners are very nice and do their best to make you feel comfortable, even when they struggle with language. Breakfast was very nice as well
I'll list here things that you havebto be aware of, not that i didn't like: - the only way to get to the property is by private boat and only until 4.30. After is taxi boat. The owner will arrange pick up for you in specific hours. -the beach is basically private so no people if not that property +another one next door. Same for bar and restaurant . -the bungalow is very basic, in the middle of the jungle. There are mosquitoes, geckos, frogs and ants. Don't go if you're not comfortable with that. -no air condition but a very nice big fan.

Verified reviewMr Ramadan and his family are extremely welcoming without being overbearing. If you are expecting anything but pure relaxation then this probably isn't for you but if you want to forget about the world for a few days with the most amazing view out to the ocean and a coral reef on the beach then this is pure bliss
Could do with some air-conditioning or maybe mosquito screens so you can keep the ocean windows open all night to get the breeze

Verified reviewRight next to the beach with a beach view
No air con, fridge or hot water. The two fans were good through, got some ice from the restaurant and the cold shower was quite refreshing

Verified reviewThe view was by far the best part and worth the distance from Ton sai. It was very comfy and spacious. The staff were very friendly and kind.
Cold shower, the roof for the bathroom has a gap all the way round the ceiling kind of like an out bathroom so bugs (mostly ants) get in and it’s a gap into the next doors bathroom so you can hear everything so privacy isn’t the best. Also it doesn’t say that there’s an extra cost to use the boat to the pier or that it’s the other hotels transport facilities. Communication between us and the staff was difficult they didn’t speak much English.

Verified reviewViews were lovely, would be great for a quiet few days for couples, downside is you can’t get to the main town in the evenings and there are limited means to travel to and from this hotel. All access is by taxi boat, which is weather dependent

Verified reviewWe liked the view overlooking the beach and the sea from our balcony. There is a little restaurant as well which is delicious and it has very good prices! You must try it if you stay. The Pad Thai & Green curry were our favourites! The hotel is family ran and all of the staff are very nice and helpful. They will go out of their way to cater your needs! The property is on the adjacent side of the island from Tonsai so a boat taxi is needed. They run a shared boat taxi everyday for 200Baht per ride. 8.00am & 12.30pm to Tonsai pier it takes around 30 min. There is also 2 return times 11.30am & 1.30pm. There is also a supermarket about 100m along beach which sells necessities such as snacks, water, sanitary products etc.

Verified reviewGreat location
Our worst hotel experience in Thailand, poor communication from the hotel, we booked a taxi boat that never arrived, waited hours in the rain just for them to reply hours later “just cancel your stay”. No hot water, no WIFI, staff doesn’t speak english.

Verified reviewExcellent staff. Beautiful views. The room was clean and same as the photos. I also liked the restaurant food.
Shower was cold, specially was not good at night 😕 Location is far from the pier, so the hotel may not be suitable for everyone, although I liked it considering the hotel provided boat transfer. A few simple improvements could enhance the guests' experiences greatly - a small fridge, an electric kettle, and hot water for the shower. Overall I was happy.☺️
