Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceInternet was weak and the beach was rocky and not swimmable except at high tide.
The hotel staff were exceptionally kind and friendly. Full breakfast, good shuttle boat service and a beautiful bar with delicious Thai food and tropical fruit cocktails. Magical sultry tropical islands view from our chalet window. Nice nearby village with white sand beach, scuba diving store and massage parlours.

GreeceThe hotel can only be reached from Tonsai by long-tail boat (250 THB per person each way), but honestly, that makes it feel even more special and secluded. The moment you arrive, the peaceful atmosphere makes you forget about everything else.
I stayed at this hotel for three nights, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The location is perfect if you’re looking for peace and quiet—it feels like a hidden gem tucked away from the busy Tonsai area. The room was beautiful: spotlessly clean, very comfortable, and with a breathtaking view that I never got tired of. The staff were simply amazing—kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything I needed. Just a short walk away, there’s a small village with a handful of restaurants, and a couple of them were exceptionally good. Within about a 10-minute walk in either direction, you’ll also find stunning beaches that are perfect for swimming and relaxing. If you’re looking to escape the crowds, reconnect with nature, and enjoy total relaxation, this is the place for you. I would love to return to Phi Phi one day—and when I do, Phu Chalet will be my first choice without hesitation.

AustraliaAbsolutely stunning location. The beach in front of the hotel is great for snorkelling and swimming and lying on the beach. The pool is stunning as well. Loved sitting in the deck chairs and looking up at the jungle or out to sea. The staff were so welcoming and friendly.

United KingdomBreakfast wasn’t amazing and had the same options each day. The fruit was nice and it’s not a huge issue.
The views from our room were amazing even when the rain came. The staff make you feel very relaxed and can’t do enough for you although they also don’t pressurise you into things. Wonderful location in the quiet part of Phi Phi. We walked to remote beaches including Nui. Local bars and restaurants also really nice and give a local vibe.

United StatesYou can't just roll to the beach from your room.
This staff at this lovely and well run boutique hotel are highlight they make every interaction lovely. The food in the restaurant is excellent we had two delicious dinners there. Very good papaya salad and curry. We had a family cottage constructed out of what looked like teakwood and colored glass, it was a fantastic design really a cut above it's made the downtime special. They have a good pool and it's a 20-minute walk to a Long Beach that is clean with crystal clear water.

What a beautiful place to stay . Superb rooms , amazing staff , great breakfast and a good menu for lunch and dinner . A beautiful quiet part of Phi phi .. wonderful snorkelling from the beach in front of the hotel .. and 20 min walk along a coastal path to a long beach with ample bars , places to eat or 5 min walk to a smaller beach that’s got a lovely sand bar , shops and places to eat . Also a 10 minute walk to another really rustic but beautiful beach where you can get a boat back to the main area or to another pier which links to the larger beach . IsraelThe place is very quiet and beautiful for those looking to disconnect in peace and quiet outside the hustle and bustle of the crowded areas of the touristy island. It is located next to a beautiful secluded beach. A few minutes away by tuk-tuk there is another cool beach and a 10-minute walk away there is a small village with good restaurants and bars. The staff is really nice and helpful with everything. The pool is really cool. The hotel's restaurant is good and serves both Thai and Western dishes. We took a full-day trip to Ko Phi Phi Leh and several other cool beaches and destinations through them. They organized everything and also gave us towels, lunch, cut fruit and water during the trip. In summary, this is a great hotel and we had a really fun experience. We would love to go back there in the future.
