Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MalaysiaThe bungalow is actually a little bamboo hut with a very thin mattress. The power socket is not safe as it just hangs. Because it's so green, do expect mosquitoes. Bring your own coil or repellent. The rooms are big, with TV, AC, fan, fridge, hot shower, snacks & beverage (chargeable). Comfortable beds & pillows.
The location within padi fields & it's quiet. There's access to bread/toast, fruits, coffee & tea all the time.

NorwaySome stress factors following my booking! I booked and paid through Booking.com, then I got a message about paying cash upon arrival. They also said I had to arrive by 4 pm (despite my confirmation said midnight), to secure my room (which I had paid for). No morning hike for me in Mae Salong, and if you are coming from That Ton, you won't make it by 4 pm! They offered to pick me up from the bus station for 100 Bath, but there are so many public Songthaews running from right within the bus station to the border for 20 Bath. There is a content list on the minibar. Check it when you arrive, as my fridge was short of 1 large beer and 1 bottle of tea. I got them to take a photo of it, to avoid an instant 100 Bath loss. Also it's worth noting that the minibar is not being refilled during your stay if you stay more than 1 night, and extras might not be available. 7 eleven is almost 1 km away, so plan ahead.
It's a bit out of the way, but totally worth it. The room was superb, with all the mod.cons, and even a stocked minibar. Loved the private terrace outside the Bungalow. It had a proper table and chairs. (Western height where you can sit upright and get some work done). There is also a lovely little sitting area overlooking the mountains and the Paddy fields. Perfect for a sundowner watching the sunset. The room was spotlessly clean with a spacious bathroom. The staff speaks no English, but are so good and fast with Google translate. Excellent Wifi. Some unusual dislike stopped me from giving it a 10.

ThailandParking is limited, so it is a bit crowded at times. Also it is located down a very narrow alley so if you have a car it is a bit.
Sitting at the breakfast area there's a nice view looking up to the fields. The room is nice and the location is good. Breakfast help yourself to making toast and instant coffee. The staff are nice and relaxed.

PortugalThe trip to the Golden Triangle and Chiang Sien, (and the other places in between) was fantastic! The guide San Wittaya was excellent, pointing out very nice spots that otherwise would had been unnoticed! The free visit to the Wat Phra That Doi Wao at sunset was the best welcome gift! Thank you

AustraliaMosquitoes. No enclosed patio to enjoy the cool night. So we had to stay in our rooms the whole night. Some of the beds were uncomfortable.
Breakfast was simple but freshly cooked. The quiet surroundings. The tour operator Mr Withya who is also part of the Resort staff was VERY helpful, and accommodating to pick us up from our shopping time to the hotel.

Stayed in room not huts. Great size room, free water and coffee etc. Large comfy bed and plenty of space. Really is an excellent breakfast free, best I've had in a hotel/hostel in 3 months here. The young lady here works so so hard all day. Friendly helpful staff. Quiet location with great seating area for breakfast with views of fields and mountains.

United KingdomAll was ok, maybe the unit we had is a bit tired. Good value for price though.
The location is at the end of a small road, a bit like an alley really. We found this was ok, just drive slowly. Breakfast was OK, we had breakfast a bit later around 10 as we had a long trip before arriving. We liked the cat - who we fed 2 mornings, it was very friendly.

GermanyThe staff did not speak a word of English, the owner was out of town for a while. They worked with the google translator which did not always work. I arrived after a long trip and the warm shower did not work. They only repaired it the next day. The following day there was no electricity (in the whole area). After that Wifi never came back until the end of my stay two days later. The staff was helpless. The next day the warm water again did not work. After about 30 minutes google translator discussion (they were eager to help) I just gave up on it as I had come back to the hotel very tired. The shower was dripping a lot so that whole the bathroom floor was always wet. There was a pair of slippers for that which was also always wet and used by everyone who checked if there was really no warm water. The bed was very hard.
The staff was very friendly and tried to help. Very helpful to book tours. Nice sitting area with a view over the fields. Nice little terrace in front of the house. Water and instant coffee free every day. A child´s bicycle could be used for free (must have looked very funny but was good for getting to the main street).
