Location is excellent ….. situated in the middle of the ville! Graciously offered an upgraded room which was absolutely superb! Kind staff and honestly feels like home when I’m in Dakar. Can certainly recommend for location and compared to other hotels in Dakar it is excellent value for money

Size of the rooms! Uou open the door and you are right on top of the bed! Definitely not for 2 pax The size of the room! So they was super uncomfortable! Also beautiful new hotel! Really lonely. But with discoloured, dated bed linen and towels! One can’t help wondering why that

- Breakfast Variety: While the breakfast was good and provided enough energy for the day, it had little variation and was the same every day. - Payment System Issues: If you pay in advance, be aware of potential issues with the payment system, as the new system does not communicate well with the older one, causing confusion regarding payment status. - Pool Cleanliness: The swimming pool could be cleaner during the evening, as we noticed some feathers floating around.

- Exceptional Cleanliness: The hotel was exceptionally clean. - Spacious and Comfortable Rooms: Our room was spacious and comfortable. - Friendly and Professional Staff: The staff went above and beyond to help us. - Great Restaurant: We enjoyed the hotel restaurant; the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was welcoming. - Perfect Location: The hotel is right in the city center, making it easy to explore markets and local life. - Good Value for Money: Overall, we felt we got great value for our money and would recommend Hôtel Alafifa to anyone visiting Dakar.

The breakfast lets the hotel down. It came across as the hotel took the cheapest option yet for international business person usually wants a proper full offering at breakfast even if halaal place. Don’t give cut up viannas instead of a proper sausage. Usually breakfast starts at 06;30 but at 7am staff dragging their feet setting up

This place is a total scam and frankly unsafe due to the actions and attitude of the front desk manager. I have never been so happy to check out. 1/ The price is not as advertised - the amount I was charged per night was significantly higher than what I agreed to through Booking. Booking should remove this property from their website if the prices advertised will not be honoured. Credit Cards from the US and Canada also don't work with their terminals, which is a serious problem for a hotel claiming to cater to international visitors. 2/ The included breakfast is disgusting - food is not kept at a safe temperature and bread literally had blue and green mold growing on it. 3/ Staff will promise things and not follow through. For example, the hotel arranged for a taxi to arrive at 6am, which was too late to catch a 9am flight at BSS. I asked twice that they move to 5:30 - and yet the cab showed up at 6am. I quite literally barely made my flight. 4/ They will always find a reason to upcharge you. I asked to pay my bill, which I did despite immense issues with their credit terminal. When I came back from dinner, the desk manager told me I actually still needed to pay for one more night. I begrudgingly did. At check out, I was then told that actually I owed some money for food and beverage (which made no sense, but work was paying so whatever I suppose). Which leads me to the most serious thing... 5/ Another guest was checking out at the same and tried to dispute the obviously fraudulent charges the front desk manager adds to the bill. To my shock, the front desk manager actually locked the doors to try and stop the woman from leaving. The way he spoke to the woman was disturbing and threatening. If I was a single woman I would never feel safe around this man or staying at a property which he manages. A third guest who witnessed this and I were genuinely shocked at this.

The room was cleaned daily and to a good standard. There were no bugs or anything to be concerned about. Additionally, the aircon worked well.
