How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe location was amazing, very close to everything. The room had a nice view of the hills.
The walls are not very thick, so you can hear the neighbours conversation and any other noise.

Verified reviewThe location was really good, and the the staff was friendly.
It was very noisy in the room, the air conditioning wasn’t working properly, and there were some minor inconveniences, like the mirror not being in front of the sink.

Verified reviewCl8se to bus station.
Impossible to find slot for electricity card. Couldn't see how to turn off the a.c. There was no compendium or instructions in the room. If reception has a big photo on their screen ready to show customers why not explain in the beginning or put a small sign beside.

Verified reviewVery good breakfast, excellent value for money, located in the centre if San Marino, only 5 mins walk from the old town, and 2 mins from P2 car park. We also got a discount card saving a few euros off the entrance fees in the city. The view from our room was excellent.
Nothing to complain about.

Bed actually was not a bed, in fact a sofa-bed; so, it was not comfortable.

Verified reviewAdjacent store selling Nazi and Italian Faschist 'momentos'. Disgraceful.
Dear Geoffrey, thanks for the nice review! Joli Group is not anymore affiliated with the shops nearby (even if it still shares the name) and we fully reject those ideologies.

Verified reviewBreakfast was good. Plenty of fresh fruit and yogurt which is my preference. Honey from the honeycomb was fascinating as well as delicious. The location is ideal. The restaurant towards the old Town across the street had fantastic pizza as well.as really good other options. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The stores nearby were good and the gelaterie right outside was very good.

Verified reviewIt was very convenient because it was a 3 minute walk from the bus stop from/to RIMINI.
I chose this hotel because it has air conditioning, but I was told that there is no chance to control the room temperature yourself, and that the system is to request the temperature setting from the front desk. Unfortunately, the room was too warm. The extension phone did not work, so I had to go to the front desk every time. I had to register to use the internet, so I gave up using it. It was like stepping back in time into vintage style.

Verified reviewThe location of the hotel is excellent with a public carpark literally across the road from it. Parking is €8/- per 24 hours (from when you enter it). The receptionist - Valeria - was attentive, helpful and quick: really on the ball. Other staff members we encountered were polite and helpful. They seem to be really geared up for dealing with tourists (in fact San Marino generally seems like that) which isn't necessarily always the case in hotels. The room, which had a cute, tiny balcony overlooking the street, was pretty basic with not a lot of space. But ours was a very short stay, so perfectly acceptable. The bathroom, however, was a good size - very clean with plenty of fresh towels and lots of immediate hot water - and a very good hairdryer which saved us as we arrived at the hotel in the pouring rain. Breakfast was included with our room fee. It was really abundant, with plenty of choices - including cooked items such as bacon, scrambled eggs and boiled eggs - but they really excelled in the variety of homemade pastries and crostate. Additionally there were fresh fruits, yoghurt, cereals, cheese, cold cuts, breads for toasting, jams and the most amazing whole honeycomb! There was a nice selection of teas and an endless supply of good coffee from a splendid machine with many options for your morning coffee. The WiFi was powerful. During our stay there was bad weather and our service provider couldn't connect outside, but in the hotel, it absolutely did. Quite apart from the restaurant in the hotel - which was open for breakfast and dinner - there was a decent café/bar a few steps from the entrance and a few gift shops also.
There was a fridge but no kettle or even basic coffee/tea making facilities. However, we asked at Reception and they gave us an electric kettle to use, so no problem. While there were quite a few electric sockets, they were in odd locations, and since there wasn't much in our room in the way of furniture, your phone was left dangling.
